"B" is for Board Games

I am very proud of myself for visiting almost 100 blogs yesterday! Since there are over 1000!!! participants I took an alphabetical approach to visiting the blogs. Yesterday I visited as many A's as I could and today I'll start with the B's. There will be letters with less and that is when I can go back and finish letters with more - I'm so organized! Can you stand it? Anyway, back to B!

I have different and exciting posts for several upcoming letters, but B was tough. This was my train of thought: Didn't want to do books or babies. I almost did boys and that made me think I've really been sick of my boys playing their video games (we've been on spring break with lousy weather...) and I love playing games with them when we have time. Many games start with B or have B in the title, so I decided to go ahead and do a top 5 list.

Best Board Games!
  • Blokus - this game doesn't look like much, but it's quite fun. You lay down tiles and try to block opponents from laying theirs. The object is to lay all your tiles first.
  • Backseat Drawing (a new favorite) - a teammate has to tell you what to draw and the rest of your team has to guess what it is.
  • ScraBBle - a classic, never gets old.
  • the Amazing LaBrynth - you insert pieces to change the map of the board so you can reach the items on your cards or stop other players from getting theirs.
  • Don't Break the Ice - putting it together was always a pain, but the boys just loved playing it. So cute!
What are your favorite family fun Board games? (oops, almost slipped into F!)

  1. I haven't played the LaBrynth one (and can't spell it either... heh), but it sounds like fun.

Although it's not a board game, Boggle was always a fav game around our house!

Thanks for stopping by the blog yesterday! You're doing better than me. I got sleepy after visiting 30 new blogs yesterday. Going to try to make up for it on the weekends so I can get to everyone by the end of the month.

  2. 100 blogs?! Just reading that gives me a headache! :p

I'm only familiar with Boggle of the games you listed. I think I need to get my board game action on more often!

  3. I love board games, but I think my ultimate fave has to be the trivia pursuit games... pop culture or music.
    Great B post :-)

  7. Backseat Drawing is fun and scrabble is special for me. My Dad and I played scrabble when I was young and now it's me and the kiddos! Enjoy the day! :)

  8. I always like play Apples to Apples because it brings out the personalities of whoever I'm playing with. I don't know if that counts as a board game though since it doesn't actually have a board. Though when I was a kid I thought it was "Bored game" because you played them when you were bored. So maybe Apples to Apples is my faovorite Bored Game.
