Time to Dole Out Prizes

Just wanted to say a big
THANK YOU!!!
to all who celebrated my blogaversary with me! Here's to you!
(see hidden Mickey?)

And even though it was my party, I brought the gifts. Gladly! Because without you all, I wouldn't have a party!

1st prize went to
Laura!
She won a $20 Amazon gift card (converted to pounds, since she lives in the UK) and an interview! (see below) Plus a button on my sidebar!
Her blog is the DAILY DODO!

2nd & 3rd prizes went to Cathy and RJR and they will both also have a button on the sidebar and interviews later this week!

Thursday I will announce the recipe winners - not that there were any losers! I am anxious to try them all! Yum!

Now on with the interview!
Here is LAURA!

So, Laura, tell us about your blog!

I actually have two blogs that I maintain regularly. The first is Daily Dodo which I started back in March. I actually started it as a platform that would allow me to enter Arlee Bird’s A-Z April blogfest, but fell in love with blogging and couldn’t bring myself to give it up afterwards. I don’t have a theme for Daily Dodo, but I do aim to post every day and my only rule is that I never post in advance, so what you read has literally come out of my head that day – short stories, random news, poetry, blogfest entries, videos… you name it, it’s been up there! I probably spend about an hour a day writing the posts, catching up on comments and reading friend’s posts.

My Second blog is ChickLitLove and is dedicated to all things chick lit, one of my main loves in life. Here I post just twice a week – a review on Tuesday and a short story on Friday, though I may expand this at some point.

What do you enjoy writing and reading about?

As I said above, I unashamedly love chick lit. I devour it. For years I’ve wanted to write it too but not had the guts to get on with it, but I started in June and have just finished the first draft of my first ever attempt. I don’t want to say too much about the story at present as I’m finding that keeping it close to my heart is keeping up the impetus to work on it. My goal is to have this draft out to my readers in two week’s time, and then finished and querying by the end of October. After that I have an idea for a collection of short stories I’d like to get up on Kindle.

Read any good books lately?

I’ve recently finished reading my review copy of Talli Roland’s Watching Willow Watts, which is a superb read. Next I think I’m going to re-visit Alex J. Cavanaugh’s CassaStar as I enjoyed it so much the first time round. I have a set of books like this, which become old friends and I’ll read at least once a year.

How about a little more about you? Would you like to tell us where you live? Do you have any pets? Pet peeves?

I live in the UK, in a sleepy little town called Ashburton, which sits just below Dartmoor national park, and it’s my aim to move onto the moor as soon as humanly possible. I work in Totnes, which is regularly voted as one of Britain and Europe’s top 10 coolest towns (due to the collection of eco-friendly hippyness that goes on I think!) I don’t have any pets at present. We had a plastic goldfish once but he’s passed over… I have an imaginary Bull Terrier called Dennis and I hope he’ll become real when we move onto the moor. I often borrow the neighbour’s massive chocolate Labrador though. Pet peeves? I’m fairly easy going… can’t stand it when women have their ‘colours done’… is that odd?

Would you like to plug something?

I won’t have much to plug for a while, so instead I’ll give Talli’s Watching Willow Watts another shout out as I enjoyed it so much, and just say keep your eyes peeled for announcement of my book of Romantic Shorts on Kindle in time for Christmas.

Thanks for having me Tara!
Lx
