June, already?

Well, I made it through my first round of edits. I'm that much closer to it being ready to go!
BTW - Do you all know how to view all the bits of a piece of writing? Every tab, return, and space! Well, I didn't and now I do. And when I did, I saw little hidden bubbles (like degrees?) here and there throughout my MS. So weird! I have no idea where they came from! You might want to see what's hidden in your MS.

Now, In Blog News!
I wanted to tell you all about Rachel Morgan's new media adventure - she is hooking authors up! Book covers, book trailers and more. I am most impressed with the animated book covers! They catch attention - wow! Check it out and like it on facebook!

Find Morgan Media in the following places online:

  1. Hi Tara .. well done on all the edits - are those bubbly things - the things you used to get when you typed a document in an early pc doc .. can't remember what it's called - I expect they're from the publishers side of typing ...

i.e. I can't remember!! Good luck with achieving your goal .. cheers Hilary

  2. That's weird about the bubbles. I've never heard of them before.

I'm off to check out the links, especially Rachel's.

  4. Edits are the best. (Or at least, I think so.)

I love Morgan's stuff. She's innovative, and has an amazing eye.

And all these others... Choices, choices! There are so many wonderful things happening on the interwebs, how's a girl to choose?

  9. Good going on the edits.

I do know how to view all the bits of a piece of writing. Sometimes, I'm amazed by what's there. =)

  10. Oh, I know what the bubbles are! At least, I know what they are if they're the kind of bubbles I'm thinking of ... Non-breaking spaces. You get them by typing Ctrl-Shift-spacebar (on a PC. Don't know about Mac) at the same time. Useful here and there in both ebook and print formatting.

And thank you so much for sharing about Morgan Media!

  11. Yikes, the fact that it's already June is a little daunting. And write club already? I haven't even started thinking about anything for it yet. Crazy.

  15. I get those bubbles when I copy some articles from the internet and paste it into Word. I've never had them on documents that I've created from scratch in Word. I always view the spaces and returns - I get confused when I don't see them!

I'm all set for IWSG this Wednesday.

I'm excited about the Thrill of it blog hop.

And now I'm just excited to get a chance to get around to some of my fave blogs after taking some time away.

  18. Congrats on the editing and interesting about these bubbles. Congrats yet again to Morgan and I love her animated covers. But I also really love her headers as well. IWSG is going to be great and I'm a happy co-host this month. Best of luck with The Thrill of it all.

  21. Hi Tara,

Okay, your wait is over. Yay, I'm here and as humble as ever :)

Nice one for making through round one of your edits.

Nice to see that Rachel is hooking authors up. That's quite the visual.

Ah yes, IWSG, or "I Was Seeking Gary", apparently, according to my um millions of fans, an easy way to remember that group for writers and the like.

Um Blog Hops and Blogfests! Argggghhhh! LOL

Be well and have fun, Tara.

    Gary :)

  22. Just finished my first round too, a real feeling of accomplishment, now on to book two. I've got a blog tour I'm trying to schedule, are you game?

    Let me know.

    IWSG Rocks!

  23. I didn't know how to do that either until I got to formatting and copy editing my MS . . . it's good to know. I have a tendency to add spaces where they're not necessary - oops.

  24. It's so cool Morgan's providing these services to writers!

As of yesterday, I realized that I'm up to my limit in eCommitments, so no more signing up for blogfests until I can get my eAct together.

Congrats on completing the first round of edits!
