"W" is for WIP


Anyone else neglecting their WIP? I'll give you some quick facts about mine and I'd love to hear about yours, if you want to share. I think an author's WIP can tell volumes about them (pun intended =)
BTW (by the way) WIP means Work in Progress...sorry I didn't clarify.

Title: Pop Travel
Genre: sci-fi thriller
Stage: completed, querying and more editing

One sentence summary!
In 2080, mild-mannered detective J.L. Cooper and spunky secret agent Geri Harper uncover deadly problem with pop travel - laser teleportation.

Goal: more queries, more & better words...I guess that's a little vague?

    My WIP is the sequel to the book I finished writing last year. Yesterday I finally managed to get 195 words written.

    I'm starting to see how a WIP can tell a lot about an author...I just kind of came to the realization I might be serial killer from my book - NOW, wait! don't get excited! I haven't killed anyone, nor plan to, but he was oppressed and judged on a scale of "perfection" which...I now believe mirrors my own life. It's not every day you can say "I'm a serial killer" lol

    Uh-oh. Then my WIP says I'm a fantasy lover whose quest for the perfect ending is keeping her from ending it at all. Your blurb sounds intriguing! You've finished and started querying?? That's awesome.

    I haven't written a word in days. Very frustrating. I'm hoping its just the A to Z Challenge and I can find a routine again once its over.

    Title: Setting the Record Straight
    Genre: Contemporary Romance
    Stage: Completed

    One sentence summary: Colin and Riley overcome years of misunderstandings only to come up against new obstacles, an overbearing music manager bent on self-destruction and intrusive parents with greedy intent.

    Goal: Get this thing off my laptop and find out if anyone but me wants to read it.

    I'm waiting to hear on my recently finished wip and trying to do some serious cutting on my bloated fantasy so instead of adding words I'm trying to get rid of them! Sometimes that's just as hard.

    Dee travels to the real world behind MacBeth through the magic of theatre and witchcraft.

    I just put more thought into that sentence than my WIP this whole month.

    I'm not only neglecting my current WIP, which is, um, a little on the erotic side, but I'm also neglecting the two novels I've got in edits. One is a futuristic/adventure/romance and the other is a futuristic/romantic/adventure. ;-)

    Yeah, my WIP is suffering since, oh about April 1st. LOL I have one just about ready to query and one is still in first draft phase. Once is a historical fantasy that takes place in 1349 and the other is a futuristic fantasy that takes place in the not too distant future. Guess I have a hard time living in the "now." :-)

    I do have the same 'problem' as ~Rasz~ (above)...not sure what your WIP means...is it work in progress, writing in progress or...
    Regardless...I hope you are enjoying your WIP...

    As for me..I do have some knitting work in progress..but its going real slow...
