Now I have to sit and wait through the whole cycle. And there’s nothing on the radio. How does every station have commercials on?
Is this longer than normal? It’s been at least two minutes.
Let's see. No texts on my phone.
I should use this time to practice my patience. Hey, kids in the back seat! Be quiet!
Okay. I see yellow the other way. Finally it’s almost our turn!
What? No arrow! The person in front of me wasn’t pulled up far enough.

ReplyDeleteCouple of weeks ago, I missed a light because the, ummm, driver in front of me sat through a light, busy doing whatever the heck he was doing. I finally honked, and he drove off through a yellow, leaving guess who to wait another cycle.
I DID get to experiment with a hashtag on Twitter, tho.

ROFL! Isn't it terrible how impatient we've become? We have to be always DOING, even when stopped at a red light? We check for email, tweets, texts . . . whatever happened to just . . . sitting . . . for a few minutes?

There should be a law, only talk on your phone while waiting for a light, but get going and hang up when it's green. HA-Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think about it, I play the stomach crunch game. When you get to the light, try to hold your stomach in until the light turns green. Voila! Instant work out.

ReplyDeleteI attended a conference last year for work and one of the general session speakers was the daughter of Alan Funt (Candid Camera). She was wonderful, and she talked about making sure we schedule what she called white spaces. She was referring to our calendars. We get so busy we don't take time to sit quietly and just be still, relax. Do nothing. She suggested that rather than being angry or frustrated to take a white page moment when you miss a light.
