Cleaning stinks! "Wouldn't it be easier if it all just blew away?" (Name the movie) Moms would sure be happier! And if Mom is happy, the whole family is happy, right? Ah, well. Since we do have to clean, today's
Sensational Haiku Wednesday is dedicated to those hard working Moms (& Dads) who have to clean up after everyone else - and some work outside the house in addition! Single people have no idea how exasperating it is to be the last line of defense* - Mom will do it because no one else will. Let's ESCAPE Mundania!
How to Escape Reality
Perfect getaway
A chair, a bright light, no kids,
and a great story
Who needs to travel
when books take you everywhere,
sans security
Imagination
no limitations, fly as
far as you can dream
And don't forget, if
you push the wrong button, you
can always escape!
Just for a little while, escape from your chores. You will come back refreshed and finish quicker!
*There are always exceptions! Like a puppy or a sloppy roommate, but still...
Books are my getaway.
ReplyDeleteSorry, no idea on the quote. Too early for brain functions.
Love the idea if you push the wrong button for a dream you can always escape! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Monster's Inc in the morning. Great way to start the day, and I love those haikus.
ReplyDeleteLove the Haiku, especially the last one.

ReplyDeleteBooks and imagination - a great combination.
ReplyDeleteSo clever!
ReplyDeleteNow if someone could only come up with a book that cleans house, life would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh, cleaning. Laundry is my nemesis. The huge pile in the wash room seriously threatens to consume me...
ReplyDeleteI think reading a book is a great escape plan :)
Happy Wednesday!
Love it! My problem is I escape from cleaning a little bit too much...
ReplyDeleteYour haikus are always so great.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of traveling through a book instead of having to deal with airport security! That's definitely me these days.
Hi, Tara,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smile and, oh-so-cute images.
I got to change out closets and drawers, replacing the summer clothes for much warmer ones... Temps dropped big time here in Chicago. It was summer two days ago!
I love your getaway haiku poem. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice work. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteMelanie
Wonderful haikus. I hear you on the last line of defense thing.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm alone then when I say that cleaning actually relaxes me.
ReplyDeleteThen again, I'm not a parent. But I do have three hoodlums (aka, the three older siblings that still live at home) that seem to lack the power to DO THEIR OWN DISHES.
I love this! And yes, I wish something would just come along and blow away the dust!
ReplyDeleteThese are great. The first is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love escaping through books. :)
ReplyDeleteI have hard times with work lately and I'm always glad I have my stories to escape into.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the movie, but I do wish all the cleaning would just blow away!
ReplyDeleteGreat reading haiku! I can't let myself take a break from chores to read tho, it's too hard to tear myself away from my book!
ReplyDeleteMonsters Inc. Still my favorite Pixar film.
ReplyDeleteI have to go fold laundry now. Ha! No really, I do.
