And so, I give you this week's Sensational Haiku Wednesday, Pressure...
As I scurry by,
forgetting, losing, dropping,
I reach lofty goals.
Desire to do all.
More, more, more! Must stay busy!
Don't slow down, until...
Crash, loss of power,
steam, energy. Must slow down.
Smell roses sometimes.
Technology is
who I blame, the bane and crutch
of my existence.
Now to the sweet side! I have some thank yous and an award to hand out!!!
Thank you so much, Rachel S, for the pleasant package! I won a copy of "Foreign Affairs" - an anthology of romantic encounters of the exotic/european kind! Rachel's pen name is Georgia St. Mane and she signed the copy =) plus added tea and chocolate to make the experience even tastier!!!
I also can't believe I won a digital copy of Gwen Gardner's book, "Givin Up the Ghost!" Gwen and Angela's PIP tour is so creative! Hope you've seen their fabulous interviews and posts!
And finally, the Sweet Award! I need some chocolate after all this carrying on!!
Thank you so much, Livia! She gave me this a week or so ago just before I guest posted over there. Such a sensational suprise!
For this award, we get to answer salivatingly sweet questions. Beware, your hunger will be roused!
1. Cookies or cake? Cookies
2. Chocolate or vanilla? Depends on the item, but I have to say, Chocolate.
3. What is your favorite sweet treat? Brownies
4. When do you crave sweet things most? After a meal or salty snack
5. If you had a sweet nickname what would it be? Pumpkin
I’m passing on this award to…
I loved the haiku. Great description of life and great reminder as I try to get more done by staying on a schedule...but that's the third cup of juice I've spilled or broken in 2 days (don't swear in front of the screaming thirsty child ;) I like pumpkin as a nickname too!
ReplyDeleteSWEET! Also, I hear that "more, more, more" like a drumbeat in my head. Constantly. Thanks for the award.
ReplyDeletewonderful set of haiku about life stressors ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^
ReplyDeleteCupcakes look delicious ^_^
Ah the human problem of today - more, more, more. Well said.
ReplyDeletei love your timely words today :)
ReplyDeleteGreat haiku, Tara. I don't like pressure; it makes me crumble! That's why I've never been a procrastinator. I get things done ahead of time and can breathe a sigh of relief!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Haiku! You're so talented, Tara. I felt it. And I'm like you, where I thrive under pressure. It's actually when I don't have it that I'm a little lost...
ReplyDeleteYou are truly a goddess with words!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're making this pregnant lady talk about all this sugar? Oh, I may have to get a few napkins for all the drool while I type that post :)
I work better under pressure, though I don't particularly enjoy it :P
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, chocolate. YUM!!
Love the Haiku, as always. But I think I need to go get a snack.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm more productive under pressure - if I have too much time, I'll just make myself another cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the constant demand of more, that's hard.
ReplyDelete(I'm still really excited for you!!!!)
I too generally operate best with some pressure, then I finally get things done....Since retiring and learning how to really relax, most of life's pressures have been lifted from me....Now I just procrastinate - well-said
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I will bring brownies at Christmas. It's already been approved. Are you drooling yet?
ReplyDeletemom
Fantastic haiku and now I'm craving cupcakes. You'll make it through. You can do it! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so very excited! Thanks so much Tara for the award. I love sweets!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo for Tara :D Awesome on winning Gwen's book. It's great to see her and Angela touring everywhere. Soon, it will be your turn. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be hard pressed to choose between cookies and cake. My son makes some killer oatmeal choc chip cookies but there's this sour cream orange cake I really like...
ReplyDeletePressure is writers's greatest competition. Of course life is always more fun when it's chaotic, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteTARA!!! That's an excellent haiku! I always keep myself busy and then I end up over committing in the blogosphere. Then once it ENDS, I realize I put too much on myself. But balancing things out works out tremendously!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I love brownies too! But they gotta be soft.
Congrats on receiving some books! That's incredible :)
Needed these words. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI thrive under pressure too :)
Your haikus are always so wonderful to read.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the prize from our PIP blogtown tour. We'll be at your place soon and SOOOO exited about it. Can't wait until it's YOUR turn. Woot!

ReplyDeleteYou're sure welcome for the book. I hope you like it:) See you soon!
Okay, first. YUM!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteLove the Haiku. I can relate. I can also relate to the ADD part, though I suspect I'm ADHD. I can't sit still for long.
I also love to work under pressure - it's the way I'm most productive. And I usually also blame technology when it doesn't work out! ;)
ReplyDeleteI need to pin that haiku up in my office. Why can't the day just go perfectly: no calls from the nurse's office or faulty technology. I hear ya, Tara!
ReplyDeletethanks you guys! writing these haiku is fun! and quick reading so you can keep moving w/all the business!
ReplyDeletehave a great friday!

ReplyDeleteI love chocolate! I don't think I'd be able to choose between cookies or cake- I'd go for both!
ReplyDeleteIt was like they were written just for me! I'm like that too, and it's just as often a bad thing as it is good. But we are as we are, right? Well written!
