hairy feet and pointy ears

That's what hobbits are known for, right?
Tyrean & Mary are so excited about the Hobbit movie, they made a blogfest for it! Thanks, ladies! I'm excited too! It's been so fun to reminisce my youthful experience as I read this classic with my boys at bedtime.

Here are the Hobbit Fest questions and my answers...

What is your favorite hobbit characteristic/or the one that you think closely resembles you . . .?
Well, I am NOT a neat freak and I am NOT good at baking and cooking. (yes, I am a poor example of a housewife, oh well) But I do like to eat and I am pretty stubborn and down right ornery sometimes. And I love a challenge!

If you could choose between a scrumptious second breakfast and a perilous unexpected journey – which would you prefer?
That is such a tough choice! Can I make my 2nd breakfast to go? As long as I have a wizard and some sturdy companions with me, I'll go! I could use an adventure!

Have you ever left behind something on a journey (expected or unexpected) and wished you could have it over and over again? (a pocket handkerchief?)
Can't think of anything. Our vacation motto is, if we forget something we need, we can buy it.

What is your Favorite part or quote from the book that you hope will be in the movie?
"Short cuts make for long delays." J.R.R. Tolkien, THE HOBBIT
How true it can be, though I'm the biggest short cutter around!

And here is my hobbity diva (couldn't resist!)
Happy Friday!

That's my motto for trips - that's what they make stores for.

  3. Hi Tara .. some similarities here but not many .. the Hobbit Diva is great - but I think the film version wins!

Enjoy .. and 2nd breakfasts to go sounds good to me .. cheers Hilary

  4. Does the perilous unexpected journey include a hot-looking elf? If so, I'm there. But I wouldn't mind taking my second breakfast with me. You know, if the option was available. :)

  5. Oh! Look how cute you are even with your hairy toes :D

I'm totally a second breakfast girl. Unless the journey included a really hot guy as my guide :)

  6. Oh my gosh, I had no idea about this blog fest. I would have joined in! I love your Hobbit diva. She's too cute.

We did leave something behind once on a trip. When my now 21-year old son was about 2, we went to Disney and accidentally left his Pooh Bear blanket in the hotel room when we left. Now this blanket was discontinued years before. I'd bought it for his older sister when she was little and she never used it, so I folded it up and tucked it away in hopes another munchkin down the road would want it. Oh my gosh, you would have the the world spun off it's axis and tumbled across the universe when we got home and found that blanket wasn't there. Thankfully, we called the hotel and they had it in their lost and found. Two days later it was back in my son's arms. Thank you Disney!

  8. What a cute Hobbit diva. Very nice, indeed. I look forward to seeing the movie. Breakfast is such a great meal, it'd be tough to say no to that. But an adventure can be fun. It was a tough choice.

  9. Cute Diva and I LOVE your new castle banner image! Has been too long since I read The Hobbit and I misunderstood the leave behind question. But I'm like you---whatever we leave behind we can buy, makes packing a lot less stressful...and the vacations a LOT more expensive, hehe.

  20. Your answer to that question about leaving something behind is a great motto. I just wish I could do that. I'm the person who checks a hotel room 2 times before vacating it. I drive myself crazy!! :)

  21. I try to tell myself the motto of "If we leave it, we can buy a new one/what we need when we get there", but I still stress out like crazy before a trip. You are so creative with your image wizardry! I love it!

  22. Nice quote :) and I would make a terrible housewife too. I can cook, but I hate doing so.
