popsicle break

Happy 2nd Anniversary, everyone! The Insecure Writers Support Group is two years old! And all hail our founding father, Super Ninja Rock Star Alex!

As for me, I'm crazy - totally nutso! I like this pace, but sometimes I do feel the pressure. I like volunteering and I can say no, but I also like to do things and make them fit. I'm actually doing very well with my balancing act, just don't nudge me or all the spinning plates will crash to the floor. Limit is reached. Then, fate says, sorry, hon, your garage door needs to be fixed - sproing went the spring! Nudge. Crash. Ah well - yay for hub who got it fixed toot sweet! It's always something, isn't it? The biggest lament I have this month is not connecting as much as I'd like with my blog friends - especially hard this week with CQ setting up such a great mini-tour this week. I really appreciate all the support! And I'm with everyone in spirit, trying to catch up as often as I can. Don't give up on me!

Now, a few items for your listening pleasure...

A while back I was interviewed by Andrew Buckley on his regular podcast show Write Out Loud. Totally forgot to mention it! Silly me! And I sound silly in it =P

And what reminded me of it, is my sweet romantic friend also did a radio interview! Heather was on the Romance Hour! Give her a listen!

And Donna Weaver's book A Change of Plans came out in audio format - I will toot her horn because she said the actress who read it, requested to do it! That's cool!

Excited to hear what changes Alex has for the future of IWSG! Check it out with me. Hope your writing is more up than down!

And just in case you have time, here is the schedule of my CQ week blog tour... I sincerely appreciate it!

  1. You look like you need a break. You've got a pretty busy schedule going on. :) Don't feel bad about not being able to keep up with everybody all the time. It happens. That's life. You do what you can when you can. :)

  3. I know exactly how you feel. Too many spinning plates. Please don't bump me.

  4. I'm in busy mode, too, but I'll try and check out the links you shared! P.S. you'll love the news Alex shares with us!

  5. Good luck with everything! :) Be careful juggling those plates, though - if you drop them, then you'll have to clean up the mess and then it's one more thing you'll have to do!

  6. I kept telling myself that things would calm down for me in September when the little ones go back to school. Hahah. Yeah, that didn't happen. I know how you feel, good luck with your tour and when you can, take a little break and catch your breath. (:

  10. Considering everything you must have going on, I think you're doing just fine. =) If it were me, all those plates would already be smashed to pieces.

  11. Can I share your lament? This is the first time I've been able to comment around in months, literally. And how did I miss the signup for your blog tour? Shoot. Popsicles are frozen, concentrated happiness - excellent choice for your break! :)

  12. I know that feeling of being one more task away from a total break down. Good for you that you can maintain the balance.

  16. Aww, thanks for the shout out. It's going to be an interesting journey. Holy cow. Have you seen the price of editors? They're work the money, yes, but there's quite a choke factor there.

  17. I hear you about the spinning plates! I'm getting better at telling people no, or limiting my commitments even though I'm dying to help out. A barely functional Crystal who can only get done what's in front of her is better than a dead Crystal. ;)

  18. Ah, the spinning plates! I get like that too, where I have everything down to a well oiled machine and any disturbance, and CRASH!

Good luck, and I bet you can get all of the plates spinning again!

  19. Most of the time I feel frenetic. I take the down time when it comes, which isn't too often. I have a bit now, but am starting to get itchy. Good thing as my MS comes back from the editor next week.

  24. Wow your plate or plates are full. Juggling acts can be tricky. Good job keeping yours under control, Tara!

  25. Oh yeah, touring is so tiring. You've done such a marvelous job, though. I'll ignore the few broken plates. You amaze me with how much you do.

  27. Yeah, sometimes life just doesn't stay steady and neat long enough! Things just got to happen. But we're still blessed, because somehow we do handle everything we need to. It all works out, even connecting with blogger friends, because we all understand. Writer’s Mark

  28. You all make me breathe easier and feel so much better! I really appreciate all your kind words and encouragement! Don't know what I'd do without you all! (I surely wouldn't have gotten this far!)

    Thank you!

  30. You have been busy, busy but such a great investment in your work. I hope it all pays off tenfold!

  31. Wow, you have a lot going on. 3 boys, work, and a book launch? That's HUGE. I am so glad my son is 18 now and pretty much self-sufficient. Even just him and the jobby job feel like a lot, so you really are amazing.
