Or are you afraid of what they will do to our beloved legendary space saga?
Either way, are you going to go see it? I know I will!
And that's one of the most awesome benefits of sequels. Once you hook readers, they want more, more, more... Join me at Christine's place today as I talk about more Pros & Cons of Sequels!
I can't believe summer is almost over. And I love Fall, but I don't like Starbucks rushing us into it with the pumpkin. I love pumpkin, but I don't want to be sick of it too soon! I also can't believe I only have one more stop on the Broken Branch Falls Summer Blog Tour. Whatever will I do with myself? Oh, yeah. Get some work done (and drink a pumpkin latte)!
I almost forgot. The answer to the question... What's the most sought after thing in this picture?
The empty lounge chair!
People hover, waiting for someone to vacate a chair so they can claim their territory!
I also wanted to thank Natalie Aguirre at Literary Rambles for my prize, THE ACTUAL AND TRUTHFUL ADVENTURES OF BECKY THATCHER by Jessica Lawson. It came this weekend and looks full of fun mischief! I've really gotten into some good MG books lately.
And lastly, I'm getting together with some friends to do a Blog Hop in October. We will announce it next week. But, I'm curious about your thoughts on how blog hops and blogfests have changed lately... What do you look for in a blog hop?
What are you reading? Ready for Fall?
Though my original BBF giveaway at Christine's is OVER
My Happy Summer Book Bday 2020 is in full swing!
Ah, of course! I remember trying to hunt down empty lounge chairs around the pool when I went to Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI love a good blog hop!
The empty chair - I missed that.
ReplyDeleteSure I'll see the next Star Wars. It has to be better than the second trilogy, right?
It's still too hot here to be thinking about Fall and pumpkin anything. :)
ReplyDeleteMadeline @ The Shellshank Redemption
I am very excited about the Star Wars sequel...I just hope they're better than those awful prequels!!
ReplyDeleteFall is definitely in the air. Brr...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I am interested in the sequel because of J.J. Abrams's involvement. I love J.J. Abrams.
ReplyDeleteOff to Christine's!
When your summer winds down, my summer is coming, so I can't be sad. As for the lounge chair, I would be just as happy to be in the water.
ReplyDelete*LOL* Yes, the chair! I'm so happy to have you on my blog today. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the pumpkin drinks though I like almost everything else pumpkin. Some blog hops are really clever and interesting and others seem like too much work.
ReplyDeleteSeems people are more interested in lying around or playing in the pool. But I'm sure someone will pop in for that lounge chair soon enough. Wow your tour is closing shop already? Glad you got it done Tara and everyone who helped out. Every bloghop is unique but I look for those who spark my interest, what the purpose of the hop is, what I have to do to take part and yes, if there are prizes. Though most that I take part in don't have prizes but still competition can be fun.
ReplyDeleteI am totally going to be there Tara and the empty lounge chair with an umbrella is the last hope in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteCome on down to Florida...we have plenty of lounge chairs to pass around, all year 'round :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be seeing the new Star Wars, but I won't be holding my breath for anything earth shattering.
I'll go watch the next star wars, but I'm concerned. The first reboot of the Star Trek by JJ was good--no, it was fantastic.
ReplyDelete2? not so much.
If he learned his lesson (dude seriously, how do you blow plot structure like that?), then all shall be right in the world. Still, I'm hesitant to have high hopes.
Hi Tara .. Star Wars - methinks I'll use the lounge chair if everyone else is at Star Wars!
ReplyDeleteBlog Hops not so keen generally .. but if the ante is up then that interests me ...
Love pumpkin though and our weather is cooling down ... cheers Hilary
I'll probably go see the new Star Wars, even though I'm not holding my breath for it. Depending on the husband, it may even wait until it's in Red Box.
ReplyDeleteI pick and choose which blog hops to join. It's easier when there's a list, as opposed to tagging people. Finding people who want to participate and continue the hop is hard.
The empty lounge chair is exactly where my eyes zeroed in LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what the sequel will do to the saga, but I'm still watching it! Running over to Christine's place now :D
I loved your guest post and thought the pros and cons were spot on. Yay for the free book! Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really do bloghops. I probably should, but I tend to forget about them and by the time they roll around...
ReplyDeleteAnd since this summer has been pretty miserable for me, I am so looking forward to fall. It's bound to be better.
No way, I am holding onto every last breath of summer that I can get.
ReplyDeleteI am always afraid of sequels. Will they ruin it for me? Ha, on the way over to your guest post now...
And you can't leave anything to save that lounge chair because someone will swipe! Terrible.
ReplyDeleteAs to blog hops, I like them, but I find I opt out more these days. I'm just hopped out I guess.
Someday I might actually sit down and watch one -- any one -- of the Star Wars movies.
ReplyDeleteYes, I really said that. And meant it. Long story...
I'm that weirdo who never gets sick of pumpkin, haha. Also, great guest post at Christine's! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Tara!
ReplyDeleteYou are spot-on about poolside lounge chairs being prized real estate. Hey, I entered to win Jessica Lawson's book too! Looks like a great read. Once you locate that poolside lounge chair you'll have something to do. Bloghops. Love them when they are quick and fun. And creative. Looking forward to hearing more about yours!
Starbucks isn't the only one rushing it. All of the seasonal pumpkin beers are already being stocked at liquor stores. And Hobby Lobby just got an entire row of Christmas trees last week. Maybe next week at Wal-Mart they'll start putting up Valentine's Day stuff.
ReplyDeleteOf course it was the lounge chair! I focused on the people in the water. LOL
ReplyDeleteNo, I can't believe summer is ending. Yes, I love fall and pumpkin lattes. Yes, it's too early for the lattes. But I haven't seen them here yet.
Oh, I'd love to kick back in that lounge chair =) I'm off to Christine's to read more about sequels :)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see the new Star Wars movies. And so is my 10 yr old son.
ReplyDeleteI was never impressed with SW 1 & 2. Maybe because I grew up with 4/5/6. But then again, my son doesn't like them as much as the originals either.
Summer has been beautiful and I don't want it to end! I'm not ready for Fall, but I agree, I do love it. (NOT YET!)
ReplyDeleteI love BLOG HOPS!
Heather
I am actively denying the approach of fall! Fun list over at Christine's. I'm excited for the Star Wars sequel, but a little nervous too. Hope they do it justice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to use old posts! :D Hope you're having a good Friday.
