And now for Dos & Don'ts for Book Events!

DON'T wait too long, registrations are early and spots fill up quick!

DO go where your genre and future fans are. Research!

DON'T expect to sell a case of books, it happens, but rarely.

DO expect to make some great connections, learn about other events, and sell a few books.

DON'T count on them to provide food or drink, if they DO, it's a bonus!

DO wear comfortable shoes!

DON'T worry if you're late or get lost, or even have to cancel - it's okay!

DO make a checklist so you DON'T forget important items!

DO bring something to DO - like the rough DRAFT of your next WIP!

DON'T be afraid to start a conversation - paying a compliment works wonders to break the ice!

DO be friendly and smile!

  6. I know all your bloggers except one. I always make a list but don't usually bring anything to do. Too busy talking with other writers.

  7. Do wear comfortable shoes! Love that, I cringe everytime I see someone stumbling around trying to look good and you can tell they're miserable, uncomfortable and therefore they don't look cool. At my age, ONLY comfortable in my wardrobe.

  9. Aw, thank you, Tara.

DON'T be afraid to wander. Talk to people and hand out bookmarks. You'd be surprised how many will follow you back to the table to get a book.
