Ohioana was my first and favorite book event and I look forward to it every year. I always love hanging out with author friends and meeting new awesome people. I love doing panels - you know how I love to talk.
It also felt great to interact with readers. Some even told me how much they liked my books! And I was invited to a couple of other events while I was there.

I'd also like to say a big THANK YOU to those visiting me. I know tons of folks are participating in the A to Z Challenge. Good luck! You're in the homestretch!
And one last mention for my Jolissa giveaway contest...

PS - Did anyone watch Game of Thrones? Do you think it's still George RR Martin caliber? I'm not so sure... I feel like they're rushing it and making things happen. Hmm.
Glad you had a good time at the book festival!
ReplyDeleteI did watch GoT last night! There were a few good moments but I thought it was a bit dull compared to a lot of other episodes. Hopefully it picks up some momentum.
Glad you got out and enjoyed an event!
ReplyDeleteDon't have HBO and the friend who did have dumped it recently, so I'll have to catch up on Game of Thrones this summer.
Glad you had fun at the book event!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I had a marathon of last season's GoT so we enjoyed the new episode, felt like it picked up right where the other left off.
Glad to hear you had such a fantastic time at the book event! How cool that you got invited to more while you were there. That's awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time at the book festival. Like I said on Facebook, your set-up is most impressive. It's inspired me to do better at my next event.
ReplyDeleteI was slightly disappointed by the season 6 GOT premiere. It felt short to me. Especially when I know that they're currently only planning on doing seven seasons. We're running out of episodes! They need to make the most of every minute.
Glad you had fun. It sounds fun to me. Very exciting.

Sounds great! I always enjoy events that let me actually meet people I usually only interact with online. I'm happy that you had such a good time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Game of Thrones yet - figure there are too many nightmares for me if I jump in! :)
Sounds like a great event!
ReplyDeleteKeep putting yourself out there Tara!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on participating in the event!

Congratulations on a successful event! I'm wondering how much info Martin has given the GOT writers, and how much the story will be running in opposite directions from the next book. Also, I'm finally catching up on comments. You asked about short stories, and how to know what the editors are wanting. Reading issues of the mags you really want to is probably the best way to go. Some will have free issues online or offer to send one. If they don't, and you don't want to purchase an issue, sometimes just reading the description of what the stories were about can give you indications which way they lean. And sometimes you just keep submitting until you hit that person who likes it. Good luck!
