Baseball is officially over! And my little guy's team won a tournament! Woo hoo!
But the best part of my weekend was a wonderful new CP read my MS through in 2 days! Made my whole summer! I will be interviewing her after Camp Nano...surprise!
Speaking of Camp Nano August, I'm starting to pack! Here is what I will be bringing (I'm a total plotter):But the best part of my weekend was a wonderful new CP read my MS through in 2 days! Made my whole summer! I will be interviewing her after Camp Nano...surprise!
>> a pen
>> trusty notebook
>> outline & maps - i love maps, they help me visualize!
>> character & background info
>> calendar - to keep track of my progress, not gutsy enough to use a gadget on the blog, especially for my first time!
Any other suggestions?
Other than that, not much to mention, except... Alex - still waiting to hear about the fest! But I've been away from the internet, so maybe he did today. I'll check...
Chuck Wendig, outspoken author & giver of writing advice, has a good flash fiction challenge this week that coordinates with the FAIRYTALE MADNESS blogfest (August 13-17). For Wendig's flash, twist a fairy tale into a different time period. Light bulb!
Yay! I'm so glad you found a CP. She jumped right on it and read in two days? Very nice...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your little guy! Glad your new critique partner rocks. And we're a month away from the announcement. Five-six weeks tops. Promise!
ReplyDeleteTournament champs!! Boo-yah!! :)
ReplyDeleteProps to junior and his championship! Camp Nano? I could use one of those to help me along with my MS.
ReplyDeleteAwesome about the baseball! The BOY starts football conditioning tomorrow to get ready for August.

If you really love maps like I do, you need a subscription to National Geographic. I have a mound of cool maps.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome about the tournament victory! I love maps, too. I used to be in charge of stocking them when I worked at a travel store.
ReplyDeleteBrinda, Yes, she is awesome!

melissa, a travel store sounds inspirational!

ReplyDeleteOne thing I usually do ahead of time is make a chart for myself - I put the day/date and where I should be word count wise on that day. Then I have a separate column where I write in my word count for the day. Pretty low tech but it works for me. :)
Oh, and don't forget the s'mores...
Yay for your little guy!! How exciting for him, and fun for all of you. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck at Camp! :)
I'm polishing up my hookers and hangers for the blogfest!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son! And yay for finding a great new CP. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's great about the baseball tournament! And even best about the new CP. Two days to read through a MS is awesome. Good luck with Camp NaNo August!
ReplyDeleteMy beta reader finished my book in two days. I was shocked.
ReplyDeleteI'm participating in Hookers and Hangers too. :)
August is a packed month for you. I too am participating in Hookers and Hangers. Just so you know I just gave you another blogger award. See it on my July 11th post.
ReplyDeleteMadeline, I like that idea!
ReplyDeleteJulie, thank you!
Emily & Stina, I have more hangers...
Christine, thanks!
Sheena, woo hoo! going to look! thanks!
Congrats to your son's baseball team :) So glad you found an awesome CP! Woo hoo! And can't wait to read your hookers and hangers! ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a CP. I managed to get a great one on Rach's post and another on FB (fluke). Also snagged a Beta reader on FB (another fluke).
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the August CampNoNoWriMo and am terrified. I had hoped to have my romance WIP first draft done, I'm only up to chapter 3 of at least 15.
Plus I have nothing set up for my mystery WIP other than a prologue, a setting and some vague characters. Think I'll be totally pantsing it.
LOL!
