I made a couple of updates in red!

H A P P Y F A L L !
It's been a busy weekend! The highlight was that my son's baseball team had a get together to socialize with new teammates and their families at the Reds game Saturday night - when they clinched the NL Central division championship! Even though I live in Ohio, I'm a Braves fan at heart and a Tiger fan by marriage - but it was awesome to be there for such a big win! Way to go, Reds!
We had three different sports represented this weekend too - a football game, a baseball game, and basketball tryouts. I've barely been home! Ah well. I enjoy being busy!
And now for the writing/blogging news...WBN!
Tomorrow (9/25) kicks off! Miss Snark's biggest annual event - Baker's Dozen Agent Auction! Check it out if you're shopping your MS around!
Christine is having a birthday give away! Go stop by and wish her a happy birthday and you might win the present!
Angie at Notes From the Writing Chair wants to read some short stories and give feedback! She's holding a contest through Oct 31
The Muse Online Writers Conference! You should register because it closes
So how was your weekend? And do you have a wild hair to write a great short story? Going to the online conference? Have a great week, whatever you're up to!
All those sports - you do sound busy! I worked on edits all weekend. With a lot of guitar practice in between.
ReplyDeleteI just got back from a week long writing conference and I am both stoked and burned out. But I'll recover and come back better and stronger! (Fingers crossed!) :)
ReplyDeleteI believe tomorrow on the auction is just a chance to get feedback on your pitch. The real deal doesn't start until later next month. Tomorrow is optional.
ReplyDeleteGreat batch of news! I'm trying to decide if I should jump in . . or just stick to getting my writing goals done.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I took on the Meme today and linked back to your blog.
busy lady! but it sounds like you're having loads of fun :)
ReplyDeleteI want some cold weather. Will you send some my way?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my place :O)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy, fun weekend! And of course, thanks for all the links! :-)
ReplyDeleteglad you had some fall weather--we are having some today :)
ReplyDeleteOnly one game this weekend - my grandson's football game - but we had perfect fall weather for it. This week will be too much "catch-up" and not enough "moving forward".
ReplyDeleteHi there! Did I know you were from Ohio, too (or am I not remembering we had this discussion)? I'm near Cleveland!
ReplyDeleteI live in Cincinnati. I'm not exactly a Reds fan (I'm from Cleveland originally), but I'm thrilled that the Reds did so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout-out! :) My weekend highlight was going apple picking at a huge orchard. Makes me wish I knew how to do anything with apples other than wash them and eat them. *LOL*
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised there was any writing with all that sport going on!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a whirlwind weekend. I worked, and husband and I toured the Lava River cave yesterday. That was fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun that you were at the Reds game! I was so excited when they won, I'm very jealous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder about the Muse conference, I had totally forgotten!
It sounds like you are so busy! Best of luck with all the various sports. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out this Baker's dozen auction. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI had a nice relaxing weekend for the most part...and I need more of them! I'm exhausted ;)
ReplyDeleteI got a lot of writing done on my WIP Saturday night and all of Sunday. I'm at over 90,000 words now, with a rough guesstimate of the final total being 150,000-200,000. I know what you mean about being loyal to one team even if you live in another state. The Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins have my heart, even though I haven't lived in Pittsburgh for ages.
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for an award: http://carrieannebrownian.wordpress.com/2012/09/24/one-lovely-blog-award/
That sounds like a good online writer's conference. I would probably join the conference in the future but not right now. I don't even know how the thing works.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blogosphere news even though I don't hide under a rock in this town! :)
Thank you for passing along the great info! I hadn't heard of the conference before. Will have to look into it, but doubt I have the time I'd need. Maybe next year. Your weekend sounds lovely; glad it was a fun one, and exciting about the Reds game.
ReplyDeleteShannon at The Warrior Muse
I meant to sigh up for the online conf, but forgot. Thx for reminding me. :)
ReplyDeleteI love sports. I can't wait for my kids to be old enough to participate in some! Btw, I did your meme :) Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteWanted to answer your comment on my blog - I think books by the banks already happened. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't have any plans to go. A lot of my writer friends sold books there last year, and they had a good time. Maybe next time I'll go.
ReplyDeleteAlex, yay guitar practice!

ReplyDeleteMy goodness you're busy!
ReplyDeleteI like the Braves, mostly because they're about the only team anyone in the south can root for!
I'm a Yankee fan by birth though :)
