Up Down Hills

Welcome to the A to Z challenge - Undeniable!

A to Z Writing advice:
Unique – No two snowflakes are the same and no people have the same DNA (except identical twins, but even they have differences) It is also said that there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9) - everything has been done before, even in bible times. It's amazing how the same basic stories can be told over and over again with new twists to keep us reading! It's because we put our own unique spin of experiences into them, our unique imaginations, and our unique talents. The stories may be old, but the perspective of writers and readers keeps them fresh and flowing! So don't be discouraged - I urge you to write on!

Visiting BROKEN BRANCH FALLS:

Ugly Mountains - where the dumb, selfish trolls live

Up Down Hills the section of hilly land north of Black Dog Forest that grows into the Iridescent Mountains

And for laughs:
Reasons Men are Happier People...

U is for Underwear
Men's underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.

Men don't have strap problems in public,
or don't hesitate to fix them if they do.

  1. Hey, I don't do that in public!
Every person is unique, which means he brings something new to a story.

  2. Hi Tara!

You're right--so many stories have been told so many times that it's hard to find one that hasn't been. The important part is making it your own!

  3. Every writer tells their story in as different a way as possible. Lucky men, they don't have VPL's (visible panty lines) :(

  4. Up Down Hills. I feel like I can relate to that. Seems like so many hills feel one way and turn out to be the other. The only thing to do is keep on moving on!

  5. Tash and I are identical twins, and we do have our twin moments (both writing and other things), but we're each our own special little snowflakes as well ;P

  7. Doesn't Blake Snyder said there is only like 12 story lines. Or, something like that.

  8. I think there are so many tiny details that go into a story that make each one unique. Sure, the basic plot lines are done over and over again, but no two stories are ever EXACTLY alike.

  9. Your little tidbit on unique inspired me to get out of a rut I had for a short story. Thank you!

  10. Ha! I like your joke.

Yes, we're all unique, so even though a basic story line might have been told before, there's always a new twist we can put on it!

  11. Our voice and approach both make our stories our own. I love attending workshops and conferences where they have everyone write about a topic. Just hearing everyone else's take on it is so telling. Poeple always write dramatically different things.

  12. I swear you could put together your 'reasons' and make a bestselling book.
I'm trying to make my current WIP unique. Struggles...sigh.

  13. my post today is unique also.
True men don't have strap problems - wouldn't it be funny if they did?

and true again - there are no new stories, only new characters and unique ways of telling the stories

  14. Infinite possibilities for telling the same story. Isn't that amazing when you think how long stories have held our interest?

  15. It's true that every topic has been delved into at least once, but I say who cares. Even a story with similar aspects to another can have it's own unique spin and amaze people.

  16. I've seen way too many men try to correct those problems in public! <.<

  17. We are all unique and even when a story is retold a pinch of our personality goes into it making it different!

  18. If they did, then a "Strapping Young Lad" would take on a whole new meaning.

    Thanks for the chuckle today.

    Happy A-Z.
