Welcome to Kick Start March!
Here are just a few happenings this month.
- TODAY IS THE DAY! Nick Wilford's OVERCOMING ADVERSITY ANTHOLOGY for ANDREW releases today!
A collection of seventy moving and uplifting original pieces - real life, flash fiction, and poetry - about battling against the odds and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. The contributors include Amazon bestselling authors Alex J. Cavanaugh and Kyra Lennon, and the cream of upcoming talent.
The anthology is part of a fundraising effort to send the editor's stepson, Andrew McNaughton, to a specialist college in England. Andrew has cerebral palsy, and is a remarkable young man with a promising future. However, the free further education options offered in his own country of Scotland will not challenge him and allow him to progress. In order to access the education he deserves, Andrew will have to pay exorbitant fees, thus creating a situation of discrimination.
Help us get Andrew to college by buying a book that runs the full gamut of human emotions, ultimately leaving you inspired and glad to be alive. Whatever struggles you are going through, our sincere hope is that this book will help.
- Don't forget the Insecure Writers Support Group is Wednesday! See you there, right?
- March 15, your favorite Irish Hawaiian, Mark Koopmans is hosting his annual green celebration
- And March 18 we will share our top ten movies for Alex's Countdown blogfest!
- On March 21, Mina Lobo and David Macaulay are hosting a bloghop to get us hyped up for the A to Z called THE BIG REVEAL - got a theme? Share it!
- The ladies at Falling for Fiction are playing matchmakers again! If you're looking for a CP or beta reader, head over there and fill out their form and they will help you find a match March 25-29
So are you ready for A to Z? Got a theme? Later this month I will offer some tips for maximizing this wonderful opportunity! Hope everyone is ready for some March Madness - even if it doesn't involve college hoops!
Thanks for the reminders Tara. And all the best to Nick and Andrew! What a great collection of stories. (:
ReplyDeleteWow, so much going on. I'm not participating in the AtoZ challenge (not enough time), but I'm looking forward to check out your post and see what themes people are going with. I remember the early years when not many people thought of picking a theme.
ReplyDeleteI think I've got a theme, but then again last year I started out with one theme then changed my mind and went with another! So, who knows this time?! :)
ReplyDeleteI am in the Big Reveal and Alex's bloghop already. Thanks for the information. :D
ReplyDeleteMarch is coming in with a white, wintry roar here. Great to see Nick's book about.
ReplyDeleteOh, man—the A to Z. I still need to come up with my theme. Thanks for the reminder—and for all the other reminders as well. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Congratulations, Nick!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder for the IWSG and my blogfest.
Finally started writing my posts this weekend for the Challenge.
I still haven't decided on the A to Z Challenge this year, as in if I'll be taking part at all. I need to see where I'm at in my writing journey before I commit. I'll end up being the very last person to sign up. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for A to Z! I can't believe it starts in just four weeks. It's going to be a great time!
ReplyDeleteWow, so much going on...
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Nick...I still think he has learned some Ninja skills ;D
Time is flying...thanks for all the info!
I'm so excited about the anthology! I wish Nick and Andrew the best. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Nick and I'm doing A-Z for the first time this year. wish me luck.
ReplyDeleteA to Z is fast approaching, and I need to get on that stuff. Maybe I'll work on---Oh, there's a cute internet kitten!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's me. Congrats to Nick.
The Reveal fest is such a great idea, can't wait to see everyone's themes. And can't wait to get my copy of Nick's book, so awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'll be seeing you at all those events Tara and they sound like they'll all be a blast :)
ReplyDeleteI'm very prepared for A to Z, and only have left to find a subject for my Q and X days. I'm doing a double theme, and need to check pre-written posts on another computer to make sure the secondary theme shows up on other computers, at least as much as possible. It involves html coding, and I want it to be visible to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI am totally unready for march in every way! Yikes.
ReplyDeleteHi Tara .. rooooaaarrrr - you are so right - Nick has done such a great job with his Anthology ...
ReplyDeleteI am just about prepared for the A - Z .. and am so looking forward to it again ..

I'm loving all this support for Nick's book for Andrew.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking about how hard you guys are working on the A-Z challenge makes me tired.
Thanks for keeping me updated! I do well, then slide. Sigh. One day I will have consecutive "get stuff done" days.
ReplyDeleteHey Tara, You made me organize my calendar. Thanks so much. I think I've got them all down, now. It is going to be an active blogfest couple of weeks.
