Works in Progress (updated 6/17)

I'm proud to say that "Pop Travel" is complete and in the query/edit/polish phase. It's a science fiction thriller about a new mode of travel that has a glitch. A mild mannered hero has to expose the secret coverup without getting himself killed in the process.

Next I'd like to start querying my "Lazy Housewife" book, since non-fiction doesn't have to be finished to get an agent. I've been putting interview questions on Facebook and here on the blog for research and fun.

  • I have started several new projects, but time is not on my side. I've written 2 chapters in "Broken Branch Falls" - a YA or MG fantasy about a high school with integration problems.
  • I have outlined and started "Farther Along" - a YA urban fantasy? about a girl with clairvoyent powers who journeys through the country spreading the Gospel in unconventional ways.
  • And I had a strange dream that inspired me to start another story, "Apathy" - about a fling that turns deadly.
Older projects on the back burner. Wish I had more time!
  • I would love to go back to rewriting my first novel, now "Save Yourself." It's now focused on Erika who has an embarrassing job, a possessive boyfriend and a choice to make. She uses a night out with her friends to help her decide. I've updated names, deleted stuff, added stuff. I'm up to chapter 4 in my update.
  • "The Ogre and the Harpy" - YA fantasy about the hardships of finding a mate and starting a family. Still in chapter one and developing characters. (no interest right now...we'll see if anything develops)
  • "Flavor of the Week" is a screenplay about high school girls, and how it's possible to go from good to bad or bad to good, the choice is theirs. I need to finish one of the above before I can come back to this one.

I hope to write some more short stories. I've entered dozens of contests and written a lot more poetry than I ever imagined I would. See the tabs at the top if you're interested.

Thanks for reading!
