Did anyone notice?

Google Friends Connect READER has died. (Thanks, Alex, for that correction! I thought we couldn't use the Google Friends Connect following buttons anymore!)

I am very interested to know what you are using for a reader, now. Did you use Google Reader? Did you choose a new one? I am liking Feedly. But Bloglovin is also popular. There are many to choose from. But now we don't know who is following us!

And yet, we do. Our true followers make comments on our posts. I'm kinda sad not to have those numbers anymore, but I'm also kinda glad because they didn't mean that much if they were fair weather followers.

Here's to reading and commenting! Thanks for taking the time!

TWO DAYS!!!

And here are methods to get buttons for your blog to let people follow you on Feedly and Bloglovin. You don't have to be a member of them. But it helps those who are add you to their feed.

Feedly is an easy code where you replace YOURBLOG with your blog name. Easy, right?

<a href="http://www.feedly.com/home#subscription/feed/http://YOURBLOG.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default" title="Follow me on Feedly"><img alt="Feedly" b="" order="0" src="https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSZlf-BWTuaWTY2M54tlauv6IkYukvXqU3fUbWt28gjo4gKgwmkPg" /></a>

For Bloglovin you have to go here and follow the instructions.

Google Friends Connect is still there. Just the Reader died. Ironically, now that Feedly isn't getting its feed from them and generating it on their own, it's working even better.
Thanks for the code. I have Bloglovin's code up, but not Feedly's.

I still have no idea what's going on. LOL Thanks again, Tara, for your help with the codes. :)

Yes, only two more days. Yay! ☺

I'm confused by all of this, but I'm glad Google friends connect is still here!

Little confused by it all but so far all seems fine with my blog. Will have to look into it more. Thanks Tara.

I noticed. Not because I used it, but because my significant other did and he's been moaning about it for a while now. I forget which one he's using now. Something called The Old Reader, maybe?

I've been using Feedly too. It's annoying me today by opening the blog in the SAME tab instead of a new one though. It's taking too long to visit folks. Haven't figured out why it's switched though *sigh* Still, it's a good option! :)

Well... I tried both and neither one really worked as expected. Both sites are asking me to punch in the URL to every blog I follow? Why and how would I do that?! I know it's not your fault. You are just trying to be helpful, but they both took all my info and then...nothing.
Anyway, I shall look into it further after I throw my computer out the window and run over it with my car a few times.

I've been using Bloglovin, but still don't have it up on my site. Lazy or too busy. . .can't decide which.

Haven't used Feedly. Might take a look. Thanks.

I've always gotten my feed directly from the dashboard, so I didn't even notice. A lot of people made a big hubbub about it, but I literally didn't notice. Though when Scalzi tweeted about it, I went to check and my friend connect button was still there. I wondered if I was getting tweets from some post-apocalyptic future.

I use Bloglovin'. Can't wait for Pop Travel.

I am not sure I understand what's gone - I have the GFC buttons, not sure I used the reader?! *feels dopey*. I just log into blogger and there are the blogs I read for me to catch up on...

I'm not sure what's gone either. These things are kind of confusing. I know I still have Google plus. Sorry to be so uninformed about these little things. Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July and is looking forward to the weekend.

I've been using Feedly but didn't know there was a code I could add.

So far I haven't uploaded either Feedly or bloglovin. Both have things I don't like (espec. pushing new blogs at me)

I think (but not sure) that I linked up to Old Reader, too. I still get the blogs coming to the reader location. You can also read the blog you follow if you have a blogroll in your sidebar. Or just check via the list on your profile. I checked both Feedly, and bloglovin, but love either of them. So I guess you could say I'm sitting on the fence.

Correction - love neither of them. . .

I always access the blogs I follow through the dashboard and that's still working so nothing has changed for me.

I transported my list from Google Reader onto both Feedly and Bloglovin, though I don't think I could put such a code on my own site. WordPress doesn't accept Javascript.

Didn't seem like that big of a deal, did it? LOL. I didn't use Google Reader so nothing has changed for me! Though I did connect to Bloglovin and Feedly to see if I liked those. So glad GFC isn't gone!

I'm so confused!

No worries. I'll figure it out.

I switched to Bloglovin. I like it, but don't love it. I still see the big empty spot where I had Google Reader. Google Reader, thanks for the memories. You were a good friend.

I actually wrote two blogs about losing Google Reader and soon, iGoogle. Frustrating...

I had switched to The Old Reader because Feedly was based on the Google Reader engine. I recently wanted to try Feedly but they don't allow OPML imports and that is all Google Reader seems to allow.

So I moved to a standalone reader, GreatNews and I love it!

I tried blog-lovin but it was slow, so far I like feedly.

Thanks for all the comments, advice, and suggestions!

I tried both Feedly and Bloglovin since I had to get rid of Google Reader and I've been sticking with Feedly--it just fits my needs better.

I switched to feedly too, Seems good, so far. I don't understand feeds and readers anyhoo. I don't understand the follower number either. Seems like people who really read a blog, comment. So, that's how you know, I think. :0)
