Welcome one and ALL!
I ADORE the A to Z challenge so much that I usually do 2 or more themes. This year is no different. For 2015 I'm ALL ABOUT THAT PLACE - I'll be highlighting special Blog Friends' places (forgive me if I leave any out, I know I'll meet more this year, and please mention others in the comments!)
AND
I'll be giving ADVICE ABOUT ATTENDING book events!
Without further ADO!
I completely recommend everyone go visit these ABSOLUTELY A-ONE blogs. And how convenient that two of our A to Z Challenge Founders start with A...
ALEX J. CAVANAUGH - Our Admirable Admiral, the Ace of the IWSG, and All-Around good news spreader! He writes Awesome sci fi space sagas, with his latest DRAGON OF THE STARS coming out this month (4/7)
ARLEE BIRD - An Advanced word juggler, Arlee Adores blogging. Besides "Tossing it Out" he hosts three more! Wrote By Rote, A Few Words, and A Faraway View - I don't know how he does it ALL!
ANNALISA CRAWFORD - not your Average contemporary Author, Annalisa writes stories with dark twists and some Adopt a hint of paranormal
ANGELA BROWN - Paranormal romance is Angela's Avarice. She can write up a storm of words and tame them into a stunning story you're sure to Appreciate!
And now ALL ABOUT THAT PLACE - That book event place!
AIRPLANES are not the way to go unless you have tons of money to burn.
When choosing an event, I recommend starting out local. When I do venture far from home, I go to places I have friends and relatives. That way I can stay with them and save on ACCOMMODATION expenses. Plus I have their support!
ASK questions! Talk to others who have been to the event. Ask for help, ask for advice, ask for directions, ask for details. Anything you want to know, ASK! Email the hosts with questions. It never hurts to ASK!
ADVERTISE - Believe it or not, you have fans! Make sure people know where you will be. Talk up your event on social media. You might be surprised at who shows up.

I'm struggling to make sense of lots of blogs that seem to be just advertising their publications... In Australia we are up to 18 hours ahead of everyone else... I hope i am not going to embarrass myself ny merely enjoying the challenge!
...by merely... forgive my typo
I'll have to check out those blogs you mention :)
I signed up for the Writers Digest Conference in NY this July and dropped a lot of dough on it. I just saw it and was like "I'M GOING!" but after this one I'm thinking more low key, LESS EXPENSIVE workshops and book events, because I'd like to continue to eat.
Cool post!
Thank you, Tara! I appreciate that. And I do follow those other awesome A people.
What a bunch of A-stars! I love them all.
Great series of A-listers. I'm a big fan of all of them :)
You picked some great bloggers to highlight here!! And I love you post. It's a great way to help inform other writers.
Good luck with the 2015 A to Z Challenge!

Since I was reading old books even when I was a child, I picked up the spelling aeroplane very early on, and have been using it ever since. I've kept using it even after finally discovering that's more of a British spelling, and a rather old-fashioned U.S. spelling. I'm pretentious like that.
Alex and Angela are perfect choices for A. :)

Wow. You packed a lot of A into one post.
I think advertising (and publicity) can be the toughest part of this entire process... not that I've experienced it yet. BUT, we don't want to spend time here. We just want to write. It's tough. You've given some good advice here, though:)
You picked some wonderful bloggers for A.
All of the events I've attended were ones I could drive to, although there was sometimes a hotel stay involved, especially road trips to Florida.
Those are wonderful bloggers and I know them all. I have a local writing event later this month. I've never traveled for one but I do have relatives in a lot of different places where I could go. Have to give it some thought.
Hi Tara - what a great start to your A -Z .. great bloggers, fun A words .. and yes definitely don't take the plane - start local ..
Cheers Hilary
I have to confess I'm really afraid of airplanes ):

Your fifth year? Whoa, impressive! I can't even imagine doing one year...haha.
Also, love the advice! If I ever have the opportunity to do some kind of event for my art/comics, I'll have to keep these in mind... :)
Excellent bloggers for A. Love them all! :) And your advice is awesome. Going to events is expensive. Save any way you can.
You highlight a great group of bloggers here. All different and all great.
Elizabeth Hein - Scribbling in the Storage Room
Great list of profile bloggers! Your book event tips are terrific! Looking forward to more. Cheer to my fellow Muffin Commando Squad member!
Lots of good bloggers. I've never been to a book event. I might have to try it.
I wish I could attend more events, but alas, airplanes are the only way I can go, trapped as I am out here in this eastern island nation. :P
Great post!

Happy 5th Anniversay! Wow, that is something to celebrate, this is only my second time participating. Glad to run into some veterans for guidance. Have a wonderful day!
Awesome post, and wow - I can't believe you've been part of A to Z for 5 years - that's quite an accomplishment!
Thanks for the advice, and for pointing us to some great fellow bloggers!
Great post, and great choices for your A. Wishing you the Best,
Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
Alex and Arlee are both A's. I never really thought about it before. Great theme. I take airplanes often as NZ is so far away from everywhere.
Oops, I almost missed that you mentioned me in this post! Thank you :-)
Annalisa, writing A-Z vignettes, at Wake Up, Eat, Write, Sleep
Great advice, especially about asking questions!
Yvonne
Thanks for the advice!
This is excellent advice, and I'm totally paying attention right now as I get ready to embark. Keep the wisdom coming!
Great theme!
I love all these bloggers.
I've yet to do a real book event.
Scare the pants off me!
