- Erin is giving away a headshot! What a fabulous prize - something that can make us look good!
- And Jessie is having a contest to show she's not a B word, contest snob =) With a GC prize! She is so funny!
Now, are you ready for...
Gimme an A! Gimme a 2! Gimme a Z!
(that's better than the whole alphabet, right?)
Have you started your posts? I know some crazy people who have already finished! I am finally getting into gear. And I can't believe how big it has become this year! Themes, videos, a slew of moderators, and a dedicated A-Z web page! Woah! So exciting! Really looking forward to seeing what everyone does.
But with so many participants it may seem impossible to visit everyone. I plan to use the same technique I used last year that worked very well. [And I did the 2011 PAD (poem a day) challenge too - don't ask what I was thinking.] To visit the max people possible...
- I have a plan - I visit alphabetically and try to reach an average of 30 blogs a day (so that's a total of 900 blogs!). Blogs/entrants starting with A on the first day, then B, etc. And "A," "The," and "My" don't count. Some letters have more than others, but it all works out, especially with Sundays off and the fewest towards the end.
- I have a notebook - I love my notebook and use it for every fest I do. I write down who I visit and note if we follow each other. Then when I see who has visited me, I can check my notebook if I've already stopped by theirs.
- I have fun - Even if I don't visit everyone, I enjoy the diversity of perspectives and backgrounds that I do get to see. I can't believe how many people there are with writing/creative blogs. It's really amazing! I met the majority of my current blog friends through this fest last year. They brought me out of blogger obscurity and taught me tons. And I keep meeting more!
And lastly, if you have a hankerin' to write a short story, don't forget Auntie Tara's March prompt and Unicorn Bell's A Picture's Worth 1000 Words blogfest (3/26-28)

Have fun with the blog fest. I'm not doing it. I don't have the time to blog every day. And with a blogfest, it would just get too crazy. But I'm looking forward to see what everyone comes up with, especially for those difficult letters.
Those are some great contests!!
I'm doing the A to Z blogfest, too. I have my topics decided, but no actual posts written. Now I'm feeling like a big slacker! Some people really have all theirs written? And things like themes and videos are used? How do people find time to do this and still keep up with regular blogging? Holy moley.
Your visiting plan is a FABULOUS one! I think I might do the same.
I have half my posts written. I also have a numbered list and as I visit each blog, I circle the number. otherwise, I'd never remember!
Wow! I love your organizational strategies and I'll definitely try that list idea. Last year I was totally random, with both posts and visiting, but this year I need to pre-write my posts . . . haven't done that yet - eek! Now, must go and write.
I like your notebook idea - I might use that myself. I'd love to be able to visit them all, but once the number reached 1000 I gave up on that idea!
I think everyone participating in this blogfest should get an "I'm a trooper but completely out of my mind" badge.
I look forward to reading your posts...all 26 of them O_O
Wow Tara! that's intense. I was just saying that I don't have a good blogging system and I need to work on it. You go girl! Also, next time I'm in Ohio, I'll come shoot you.
I haven't started any of my post. Kind of discouraging, but I think my goal to finish WIP (frist draft) by the end of the month takes priority. I love your idea about being able to visit all the blogs participating tho. Brilliant! It can be so hard to visit everyone.
A Pic...1000..BF has my name on it. Glad to see blogfest doing so well. Having fun is definitely no. 1.
Great idea for visiting other blogs. I think I can do 30 a day. All my posts are done, so I'm using my blogging time to visit other participants next month.
Egads, woman! You're so organized. :)
I'm not doing A-Z this year, but I'm excited to see what you come up with.
So many wonderful things to do.
So little time.
Yet I see I'm not the only one crazy enough to force-fit it all into the little time that is happening.
Definitely doing the A to Z blogging challenge. Got a few of them scheduled but darned if I'm not mad skilled enough to have all 26 done by now. Who are these people and can I have some of their energy?
Phew! I'm exhausted just reading this ;) Love this community. Always so many fun things going on :D
If I can write less than a 1000 words, I'll sign up for your blogfest. :)
I have up to I think...R loaded for AtoZ. Although I messed up O/p. I'm doubling up posts and did P/Q. So, then I had to do OR. lol Hey, that's my state. Oregon. Maybe it was more conscious than I think.
Have a great one, Tara.
I'm not doing A to Z on my personal blog, but (and this is a secret so don't tell anyone ;) ;)) I'm starting up a group blog with some other peeps at we're doing it on there.
My posts for that blog are already written. *pats self on back*
Granted...there are five of us, which means I essentially have to write only five posts.
You are a super woman :)
I'm halfway done. I'd like to challenge myself a little bit, even if it does drive me crazy.
I've never participated before. This will be my first year. I'm very excited, but completely intimidated.
You are very very organised! But I'm liking the notebook plan. I always start out well and come unstuck on the following back on about day 10, So this year, I'll be taking your advice!
Will shoot you an email later today
Lxxx
You are too organized. You make the rest of us look bad!
I have lots of ideas and pics but not one post created yet.
Sorry about Tebow. Where do you think he will go now?
HMG
