RandOM tHuRSdaY - anXious!

Hunger Games tomorrow!!!
Anyone going to the midnight show tonight? Not me! I avoid crowds. I will go with my boys next week during Spring Break, unless their friends ask them first. Then I will drag my hub!

Anyone have big plans for Spring Break? We are staying home and getting stuff done. Nice not to be going anywhere. We will also plan our Summer vacation.

And as we enter Spring Break season, is anyone else hot? It's been almost 90 here! Come on! Is Spring going to be by-passed and overtaken by Summer? I hope not! But I wouldn't be surprised.

I also hope to get serious work done on one of my other WIPs. While the big one is at CPs and queries are out, I can't sit still! I've got the bug to move on. But which one? The MG Fantasy or the YA Paranormal? Hmmm.

And lastly, do you speak tweet? Been reading about it lately. I'd like to get a quick survey:
  1. Do you have a twitter account?
  2. If so, how often to you check it?
  3. How often do you actually tweet?
  4. Care to share how many you follow? how many followers you have?
  5. Do you like it? Why or Why not?

And here are some twitter-isms from my point of view:

"Twitter is like shopping at Marshall's, you have to sift thru a lot of junk to find the best deal."

"Twitter turns us into four year olds, 'Hey, look what I did! Look at me!'"

"Twitter is facebook on speed."

Hopefully I'll get a chance to see The Hunger Games in a few weeks. After the crowds have seen it a dozen times! Enjoy your spring break.

As for Twitter, nope, don't have an account. I tried it briefly and I didn't like it. Too much bits of ridiculous silliness flying around.

I also posted for Auntie Tara's prompt today. :)

Probably won't see it. I do have a Twitter account - visit it daily, reTweet a lot of posts, follow 1100/followed by 1300 (or so), and I like it.

I'm going to see THG but I'm not sure when yet.

Your twitter quotes are funny! And so true too, LoL.

Do you have a twitter account?
Yes! @LauraMarcella

If so, how often to you check it?
A couple times a day maybe but usually not on the weekends. When I check my mail or blogger or something I make a quick stop over at Twitter.

How often do you actually tweet?
A couple times a day and maybe once on the weekend. It depends if I have something to say or not! I tweet my blog post link in the morning MWF and then I like to tweet good quotes I find or cool articles and respond to another's fun tweets.

Care to share how many you follow? How many followers you have?
I don't know. Something like 200 each, give or take a few.

Do you like it? Why or Why not?
Sure, I like it. I'm not on it as much as some people are though and sometimes I forget to check it. But I don't have a smartphone, and I expect most people who tweet very often are probably doing so from their phones, which makes it more accessible.

I'm trying to respond direct today...

Alex, you are so popular! of course you have over a thousand =)

Laura, you are so uplifting! and since i have a smart phone, i would prob overdo it! i can see the potential for addiction!

I probably won't see The Hunger Games at the cinema, but maybe when it's out on DVD.

I love my Twitter account! I have over 900 followers, and I tweet pretty often. :D

I seriously can't wait to go see The Hunger Games, but I'll probably hold off till the traffic dies down a bit. I'm not a fan of crowds either. As for Twitter, I use it, but I don't speak it very well! :)

Seeing Hunger Games on Saturday night on the Ultra Screen. Should be cool :)

I am on Twitter, and I'm horrible at it. I rarely tweet anything. But I do enjoy following the industry, agents, editors, publishing house and other writers/authors. I use it more as just another means to learn and gather information.

I can't wait to see HG. But, I'm like you, I'd rather avoid the crowds. I do have a twitter account. I'm more like a...snoop, checking in on agents convo. Yeah, sometimes I feel so wrong. =) I check it everyday, try to post at least once, and have about 150 followers? I think. I do love getting info real-time, but sifting through the mundane takes a lot of time.

kyra, dvd is a good idea too, but i prob cant wait that long!

amy & kelley & liz,i would be followers like you guys! a shy spy tweeter! kind of like in real life. at a party i stand back & listen before i dive in!

HG tonight baby!

And Twitter confuzzles me still, but I twitterstalk like crazy, and have had a few convos. But it's hard for me to keep my thoughts in 140 characters.

Hunger Games FTW!

Yeah, I'm gonna catch that one in the theaters, but not at midnight. I need my sleep, and the three year old isn't quite up to dragging me out yet.

As for Twitter... no. I feel like i should have a twitter account, but I don't. I've avoided it. Mostly it's a time issue for me.

I'm so excited for Hunger Games, and I'm kicking myself for not getting tickets sooner! (Like everyone else around here did!) I stalk more on Twitter than I actually tweet, though I try and tweet sometimes! And that's so funny about twitter turning us back into kids. Look what I did! But it's true. :) Still fun to see what people say though!

I'm not on facebook or twitter. I don't need anything else to do :)

I plan on seeing it next week.

WOOOT for HG!

I didn't do Twitter for a whole year until I finally installed tweetdeck and then it was like, whoa, I can see stuff happening in real time (#DOH)--that made a world of difference. I am on there every day! I like Twitter and FB for different reasons, but at times, I have to shut it all off and WRITE!

90 degrees! Can I move in? So jealous. Although we do have sunshine and should hit about 70 today. Monday, however will be back in the mid-upper 50's. :(

I would love to go to HG tonight but I would never make it to midnight. We're going Sat night and I can't wait.

I do have a twitter account although I have slacked on my tweets. I see the stuff in my email, but only get on once a day or maybe every other day. I like twitter but sometimes I just have more important things to do. Like finish my first draft! ahh!

It's been hot where I am, in the 80s.

I used to tweet all day long, but nowadays I go on once or twice a day, tweeting for a few minutes, and sometimes every other day.

It's been snowing here. The Hunger Games is huge. I'll wait for the dvd though. No spring break for us.

Carrie Butler said...

I'm going next week, too! My weather, of course, is the same as yours. ;)

1. Yes
2. Daily
3. Once or twice a week
4. 829 followers
5. Sure! It fits my attention span. ;)

It finally dropped a few degrees in Chicago suburbs. I'm heading to mild winter weather in England tomorrow! :D I'm excited, although staying home & getting stuff done sounds pretty great too.

I have Twitter, but I'm very spotty and haven't really focused much effort there. I'm just more comfortable with more words that aren't quite so fast & furious.

Have a great break!

Never again will I go to a midnight premiere of any movie *cough cough Breaking Dawn cough cough too many screaming girls cough* I'll definitely be seeing the movie though. Peeta and Gale are pretty attractive :)

I wish I was still on spring break! I hope you have a good one! It's been really hot here too. Like I've been wearing shorts to class.

As for Twitter, I have one but I'm pretty lame about keeping it updated. Lol!

I'll probably see The Hunger Games on some lazy Tuesday night next week. It's 90 degrees where you are? It snowed this morning here.

I plan to see Hunger Games this weekend.

Spring Break Plans? *Laughs* My plans are to be ready to promote my ebooks due in April and June. Never had big interest in spring break.

Check almost daily but barely tweets. More retweet. I like twitter. You get a lot of info in short burst. Dislike getting stupid stuff in short stupider bursts.

Tara Tyler said...

cassie, twitter forces us to edit out our voice!

rena, ditto on twitter time

cortney, oh i'm sure much of twitter is worthy! maybe some day

angie, i hear ya! i fb once a week...

carrie, fits your attn span, ha!

nicki, how do you get to go to england? i'm jealous!

samantha, how do you sit still for blogging & writing while you're at school with all the stuff of college?

sheena, you will be sooo busy! good promoting vibes!

I can't believe you are on Spring Break already! Our school doesn't go until April 9th!

I didn't read the Hunger Games so I won't see the movie. I'm okay with waiting for DVD.

We had beautiful spring weather and then since Saturday it's been in the 30's and 40's. I refuse to turn the heat back on. Everyone is using fuzzy blankets.

Twitter
1. Yes.
2. All the time.
3. All the time.
4. I have 103 followers. I follow 93.
5. Yes, I like it. Any time I tweet anything it goes to Facebook too. I only follow people I am interested in.
