kick start monday - just do it!

Shelly is giving me the best prize for winning the poetry schmoetry contest a couple weeks ago. It's overwhelming to see myself promoted on another site. I'm a bit nervous. I want to have good posts this week and with my recent tragedy, I was feeling down, especially thinking about him being younger than me and leaving behind a family. The worst part is feeling helpless because they live so far away. I appreciate all the kind words and will do my best to write my way back up.

At least I knew I could depend on Aheila's Drabble Day prompt to motivate me. This week it's "dye"

Get on the Train

I get some crazy ideas, especially while I’m in the shower. Here is an example of my convoluted train of thought. As I reach for my color enhancing shampoo, I wish the dye didn’t fade so quickly. Someone should make a shampoo that colors while you wash. But it would probably stain the shower. That would be a pain to clean, and I already hate cleaning it. What I really need is a shower that cleans itself. Or a robot. Like in that movie, “I, Robot” with Will Smith. He needs to do another movie. Maybe he could star in the movie version of my book. I guess I’d better finish editing before he’s too old!

I missed your post about your friend, just caught up today. I'm so sorry for your loss Tara, and my thoughts are going out to his loved ones.
Don't try to beat the stages of grief, let them wash over you one by one, it's a process that needs to happen.
Sending you a ton of hugs,
Nina

Hi! I found you on Shelly's blog and just had to check you out. Love the blog but sad to hear about your friend. Life isn't fair, but I am sending you my love. Hang in there girl. Use that poetry to help with the grief. You are amazing. :)

I need a cleaning robot or a maid myself. I don't care for cleaning either. My dream is to earn enough from writing to afford a cleaning service once a week. lol

I get weird thoughts in the shower, too. Showers seem made for them.

I love seeing how your thoughts morph. It's sometimes hard to explain to people how we got from point a to point h.

The universe provides. Maybe this is just what you need right now. Yay for the feature. Sorry again for the loss.

Ah, the old movie dream. My goes like this:

William Shatner is sent a copy of Tribute to the Stars, in which my story, Why Do Aliens Love Iowa? appears. He loves the story so much he contacts a few producer/director films, who then contact me to do the script. A couple of years down the line, cue summer blockbuster and multiple Oscar winning film.

Yep. The old movie dream.

I get weird thoughts in the shower too (and not just the ones that can get you arrested in some places). Yet, for the most part, at those times I think my train of thought has derailed.

That's the cool thing about this community - bloggers pull together and support one another. Don't let all the mentions scare you - it's just blogger love.
