Day 2 of the Killer Characters Blogfest!
Choosing a killer protagonist was easy. Stephanie Plum is my all time favorite heroine. You can have Katniss and Jane Eyre and all the serious do-gooders and princesses and tough cookies! Stephanie is the one who keeps it real - she is totally flawed! She epitomizes what can go wrong by making bad choices, having more bad hair days than good, and attracting all the bad (and I don't mean good/bad) characters.
She is hilarious! She is a realist with optimism. Evanovich drenches Stephanie in the worst, most disgusting and embarrassing situations, but shows that there is always tomorrow! Stephanie is tough, tenacious, and testy. When things get bad, she doesn't give up! And she has true emotions to deal with - we feel for her and root for her and cheer when she triumphs in the end.
I just hope the movie turns out well. I have a feeling it will be overdone and in bad taste, but I could be wrong...Here's to Stephanie Plum! (pic source)

Never fear, Mom's here!
Children watch my performance.
Must be brave and smile.
Weather turbulence
Do they see my white knuckles?
Aerophobia
If you'll just be still
It will fly away, I hope
Apiphobia
And here are some other interesting phobias I found...
agliophobia - fear of pain
anthrophobia - fear of flowers
arithmophobia - fear of math
bibliophobia - fear of books
cacophobia - fear of ugly
dentophobia - fear of the dentist
ephibiphobia - fear of teenagers

I haven't even heard of her?! EEK! How is that possible? She sounds wonderful. I love characters who keep it real, and have flaws and bad hair days. Those are the ones I can relate to!
I likie the haikus! Especially the first one. Moms and Dads can never show fear!

I haven't even heard of her...off to investigate.
I never heard of her. Will have to check her out. Thanks!

Oh, nice choice!
Enjoyed the haikus. Not heard of Stephanie Plum.
Nice choice! I feel I connect with the nitty-gritty characters better than the "good" ones. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who's flawed.
I've never heard of her either, but now I want to check her out!
Gotta love Janet Evanovich :)
I love flawed, real characters.
Flowers? That is an interesting one.
Loved your haiku. You're so clever with them.
I didn't know it was being turned into a movie!! And I didn't even recognize Katherine!!
Long ago, I think FDR warned us against phobophobia . . .
Cheers!

Your Haiku's ROCKED!!!
I've never been one to understand what's so scary about books. Except not having any. Great haikus!
Thanks for adding a few other phobias. Great haiku again. That's comfort in there, the first one. I like that. And I can relate with the second. But having this love to travel I am learning how to overcome the fear.
I've heard nothing but good things about this Stephanie Plum. I must get better acquainted. :)
Great collection of phobias! Great haiku writing as well! Good job TTT!

Wow, I never realised they were making a movie. I hope you're not right about how wrong it will be...but I've been burned before!
Great choice for protag!
I saw the preview to this movie the other day and thought it looked good. I didn't know it was a book too. So many movies are books! I love that:) She sounds pretty cool in my book...good call.
I love characters like this - quirky and fun, imperfect and real. Plus bad hair days! We can all relate...Great choice!
I haven't read much of Evanovich, but I've enjoyed what I read!
Good Haiku too!
You are freakin' me out!
I love Stephanie.
I have read them all.
Damn.
I'm not sure how the movie will turn out. I have seen the trailer and its not as bad as I thought. I wouldn't have picked the cast that they did. Hopefully they will remain true to the characters because that is why we love Janet's books.
I LOOOOVE sharing a post with Stephanie Plum! I found the series about 6 months ago, and lost huge hunks of my life as I read the entire series (to date) back to back.
I've been looking for, but cannot find "Bulgari Green" shower gel. I know you get that reference ;)
Oh yes, great haiku!! (but I can't get past the rest of your post, haha)
