Only one more day of quotes - then I'll be signing off for the holiday. I'm also posting my review of VARIANT tomorrow. It was sooooo good! And I'm hearing of some other books to add to my list, thanks to you guys =)

Today my train of thought starts with fireplaces. Do you have one? Is it gas or wood burning? (wish ours was wood, love that smell!) Does everyone get a stocking to hang on it? When my family was smaller we all got one, now we just have them for the kids and this year the dog, at the kids' request. I love stocking stuffers - they are the easiest junk to get. They're cheap, cute and usually yummy! And opening the stocking is exciting with so much stuff in one package. They bring back memories of our family stockings when I was a kid. And my favorite part of the holiday season was the Christmas specials, especially Charlie Brown!. My parents would get us out of bed to watch them! Hence, the quote. Now there are so many, they have marathons. I don't think I can claim this quote, but it fits...
"There is such a thing as too much of a good thing!"
And here is a haiku with Spirit for
Sensational Haiku Wednesday!
Into the Spirit
Spirit makes me cheer
Look at the lights! Hear the songs!
Smell snow in the air!
Spirits bring us fear.
Be aware of your actions
Or you'll get haunted.
Spirits douse the stress.
Have a party drink with friends
Just don't drink and drive!
Only 4 days til Xmas! Hope yours is happy!

That's the spirit, Tara! :)
We do stockings for the kids. They get to open that stuff while they wait for Nana and Papa to get over to our house.
Great Haiku. Hope you have a great Christmas.
I've always wanted a woodburning fireplace and was absolutely appalled when my in-laws converted theirs to gas.
Loved your Haiku!
I love stocking stuffers. Can find the cutest things. I remember getting stockings filled with candy as a kid.
Loved it.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas! :)
Don't think I ever told you this, but as a child we used to find a sock in our bureau and thumb tack it to the bottom of the Christmas tree trunk. We actually got some candy in it. And it didn't stink!!!!!!!!!

It's just the two of us, but my wife and I both have stockings. They're fun to stuff!
Enjoyed the haiku, and an important message at the end.
Merry Christmas, Tara. Hope you and yours have a great holiday!
Love your poem! So clever. That picture is too cute. My fireplace in my apartment consists of turning on the television and finding the channel that displays a crackling fire, LoL!!
When I was little, we had two mantels in our house–one in the kitchen and one in the family room. We'd hang our stockings on the family room mantel or on the staircase banister sometimes. Our dogs' and guinea pigs' stockings would go on the kitchen mantel.
Merry Christmas!!
Loved VARIANT, hated the cliff hanger, lol :) And I agree with your quote, moderation in all things I say :)
Tara Tyler...
A Perfect Trio of Haiku!!
Merry Christmas to YOU!
Great Picture. I don't have a fireplace. =)
Well the Christmas spirit, a haunting spirit, and the spirit of drink...Love them all
Don't have a fireplace, but while we've been house hunting we've seen plenty. No stockings for us - we're Jewish.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays to you all!
I had days without a fireplace, too - they're useless in Florida and dusty most of the year in Georgia, but I loved having one anyway!
Thanks for sharing with me!
Great set of haikus for the holiday season!
Jamie
good and bad spirits, just like everyone and everything else
Aha - three different spirits.
Very creative, and lots of fun.
Cheers!
