PAD Day 7: What if
Form: diminished hexaverse, taken from C R Ward's weekly poetry offering (she has a great fantasy soap opera on Fridays too.)
What if.
She would have been twelve
She would have been twelve
If she was a she.
I like to think she
Would have been like me.
But I’ll never know.
It happens all
The time. But why?
No reason is
Given worthwhile.
We move on.
We forget.
But we don’t.
Take heart
And pray.
Hope.
(In case you didn't know, this is about miscarriage NOT abortion. A friend is going through a rough patch right now and this is for her. And anyone else who can relate!)

I miscarried before I became pregnant with my 2nd. Each year on the date, I remember. Thanks for sharing.
This makes me cry, but it also gives me peace. Thank you for this beautiful poem, Tara.
