I made a special award for them that they can pass on if they choose. Feel free to take it and award it to bloggers who are Ultra something to you!
From the messy countertop of the Lazy Housewife...
Useless v Useful. Seems like a no brainer. Do away with useless and keep the useful. Unfortunately, if I got rid of all things that seem useless, I would be sad. So I guess some of them have a use after all... making me happy to have them!
Here are things I find truly Useless:
Editing Tips- Dust & Lint
- Telemarketing (does anyone actually buy anything from them?)
- Mosquitoes
- Pot Holes
- Tangles
- Negative Attitudes
- Worrying
- Nagging
- Moping
- Loafing (the definition of useless)
And here are the Superpowers, the Useful, for vanquishing the Useless!
- Vacuum Cleaners
- Caller ID
- Citronella
- Stimulus Package (ha ha)
- Conditioner
- Kick in the Pants
- Talking to someone
- Asking nicely
- Finding something to smile about
- Doing
What do you find Useless?
all I have for U is a few compound words:
uh-huh or uh huh undersized
upper crust (n) upper-crust (adj)

That's an awesome list! I need to remind myself of that. Thanks (:
I think your useless list pretty much sums it up :)
Thank you, Tara!
Caller ID was one of the best inventions ever. Now we can avoid those useless telemarketers.
Seriously, what is the purpose of dust and lint? Couldn't the creator of it have invented something else instead? :D
And why do black socks create lint that gets all over the place when you take the socks off, but white socks don't have the same issue? (Yes, I have actually pondered that in the past few days).
I love that award. I can almost see it glow. Cool!
Yeah, those are some uber bloggers. Good choices.
Negative attitudes and worrying are huge with article writers. I'm an article writer, and I'm sick of most of the article writers I meet in article writing forums. They're all a bunch of whiners. A positive attitude without worry is what I strive for.
Great useful post, Tara. That reminds me, dust is starting to pile up...
Love your lists. I was thinking of useless material things and I definitely have a habit of getting rid of things I wish I'd kept, sometimes.
Excellent. Right now what I find to be useless is brushing the dog. Every time I turn around they need to be brushed again. I keep trying to get them to sit still for the vacuum with the pet hair removal attachment, but so far, no go.
MY MOTHER!!! She buys things from telemarketers all the time. Even the stupid cruise that you give your credit card number to. My sister keeps having to call the attorney general to go after the predatory callers.
Awww. Look at you inventing awards. How very useful you are. I would add algebra to the list, because I've never used it in my life, but I realize as I write this that if I had loved algebra I probably would have chosen a different path, one that involved the dreaded math subject. So. Maybe algebra was the great weeder-outer. A time to discern those that would go on to embrace it and head off to those types of careers...and all the rest of us.
Today is a day to find something to smile about: your lists made me smile! :)))
You're right: those bloggers are great!
Have a nice Wednesday. :)
What a great list. Those calls are SO annoying why don't they get that?!
Great idea for an award - Ultra blogger Love it!
I might be guilty of mixing up upper-crust. Congrats Alex, he's definitely Ultimate. And to the other award winners as well.
Negative thoughts, swearing, black flies, ravens (many like them, I do not), Al Qaeda, terrorists and communists... I better stop and think positive :)
Useless.
Half the time, me. :)
Heather
I'm a lot more bug-friendly than most people, but even I hate mosquitos and flies. I look away when there's a commercial that shows a bunch of them swarming around a person's arm or leg, or around a light. Why would anyone want to see something so nasty?
A kick in the pants would be a useful superpower, for sure :)
Love the Useful vs Useless lists!
Love # 6 & #9.....I need my friends to read this and move on.....make a change. be the catalyst.
Thanks for dropping by! I read through your posts - Interesting!!
What is useless?
-My new birdfeeder that is squirrel proof - there were two squirrels hanging on it within four hours :-//
-Most technology that is more than five years old.
-Daylight savings time
-Being on the "do not call list!"
Those are ultra awesome bloggers! And great lists for the Useless and Useful. I find gnats useless. They sneak in somehow when the weather is warm and I never seem to be able to get rid of the last few until the cold weather hits again.
Junk Mail is completely useless! Especially when they try to trick you by making it look like a check is enclosed :)
More useless things:
spiders
the world's largest ball of twine
dandelions
skunks
and more
I'm sure there are really uses, but none that I know of.
Negative attitudes are so draining - on everyone! And no one wants to be around someone like that.
I must disagree with Useless #4. Pot Holes are enjoyed by every pre-teen boy after rainstorms, making them useful means of entertainment. I think we agree on all the others. ;-)
congrats to your super bloggers and I love your award, it's really cool looking. As for useless, this comment would probably fall there, sorry and useful - LOL in this country the police don't even have caller ID, although people are just starting to get it, so maybe the police do now.

I couldn't live without my steamer! Mopping and ironing aren't nearly as difficult and time consuming now. Oh, they're still dreaded chores, especially the sweeping and piles of laundry beforehand, but it's so much easier and faster with a steamer to finish them off and be done!
Congrats to all recipients of the Ultra Blogger Award! Very nice badge too!
Tara I am so humbled that you mentioned me!! Thank you sincerely :) and I am so glad that we found each other's blogs :)
love your useless list - agree wholeheartedly.
