Quotes. I've seen several blogs with famous quotes for their themes. I love reading them! Well, I have some quotes from friends, some they said themselves and some they recommended. All are great words to live by...
"Necessity may be the Mother of invention, but Laziness is the Father." - Tara Tyler, LHW
"Don't learn it." - Barb
Because if you learn how to do something your spouse does, you will be expected to do it all the time!
"Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet." - Beth
"Eat like Adam and Eve." - Leslie
"Happy wife, happy life!" - Stacee
"Don't sweat the small stuff" and "Pick and choose your battles." - Caroline
"I am too blessed to be stressed" and "If God brings me to it, He will bring me through it." - Jaime
"There's a reason why God made children so cute!" - Sarabeth
"That which does not kill us, makes us stronger." - Lisa
"Make it fit." - Mom (one of my favorites, especially with the dishwasher!)
"Don't do anything half-assed." - Dad
Would love to hear one of your favorite quotes!

My favorite.
The secret to happiness in your work is to find a job in which your neurosis is constructive. ~Jeanne LaMont, MD
Although "Make it fit" -- that works too!
I like the one about God bringing us through it.
Mine is 'just say no,' because too often people say yes to something they really don't want to do and then act miserable about it.
Love, love to read quotes. And some of yours are so funny. The last one was one of my fathers sayings. Thanks for the memories...

Fake it till you make it.
Because really, no one starts out knowing everything, but it's a lot easier to learn how if you're in the middle of it.
Wonderful quotes! I like the one at my blog - "Writing is a Dance of Language" by Ivan Doig, but my dad and I were talking this morning and he said, "Figures don't lie, but liars figure," while we were discussing some statistics from the morning paper. It made me laugh at the time.
Love those quotes and your dad sounds like my dad...lol :)
I think my father said the same thing.

Anyway I love quotes. They show us so many things. Your quote about mother of necessity and father lazy was my favourite.
Great quotes! Have a wonderful weekend.
Your first one was my favorite here as it made me laugh. My all time favorite is from Mark Twain, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

I used to have a quotes section at my old Angelfire site, with 6 categories (Latin, Eastern masters, Enlightenment heroes, favorite writers, etc.) One of my favorites is from my man Buddha: "Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little; and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick; and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful."
My favourite: "Think the best, prepare for the worst." Something like that. Don't know who said it though.
Hi Tara .. I seem to be using "Waste Not Want Not" a great deal recently .. appropriate to this day and age I guess.
And my uncle used to say "Love is... " and that I think is a lovely phrase for many a reason ...
Cheers Hilary
I did quotes for "Q" as well!
My Dad's quote was - "Either sh#t or get off the pot!" I asked Dad one day why he always said that and he said that his Mom told him that everymorning!! They had to use a pot since they didn't get indoor plumbing until his Sr. year in high school (1949).
Mom's favorite quote - to this day - "To each his own!"
My Dad's favorite thing to tell us was "if it weren't for low class, you'd have no class at all" - guess he thought girls shouldn't burp!
My favorite quote is "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love someone else?" from RuPaul.
