As for here, today we are sharing What Writing Looks Like, thanks to Sarah's fun blog hop! So I scanned the beginnings of my current WIP, Broken Branch Falls...
My stories usually start on my little note pad in my purse. This story came to me while watching football practice last year.
Next comes the outline, very rough!
Here is how I write dialog - the letters are the characters. I was advised by a crit partner not to name main characters with the same first letter - they can get confusing. And it helps with my abbreviated dialogs, too!
My favorite things to create are the maps! They help keep me straight on where and how far and which direction, etc!
Thanks again, Sarah for this totally fun blog hop! I look forward to reading the others!
And I wanted to mention Sheena's blogaversary blog hop on October 25th. She is getting input from her friends on the 4th book in her series.
Yay for Sheena!

I LOVE the idea of this bloghop. It's so much fun to see what writing looks like in other notebooks.
I almost never have outlines but I'll do the same thing with dialogue.
Already visited Livia this morning!
Did the two main characters with names that started with the same letter. Don't recommend it!
Love how you draw yourself a map of the world your characters are going to interact with. That's a very neat idea. :) Thanks for taking part, Tara! Great post!
Hey, I can read your writing. lol!
I sometimes write in a notebook. Especially when I hit a block.
Yeah, your handwriting is WAY neater than mine.
Love the map. I haven't needed to map anything out yet, but one story I did a timeline of events to make sure everything was in order and didn't overlap.

Great blog hop!!! I love your map!
Very cool blog hop. I like the map idea.
Now, how would I scan my big old white board...?
Visiting your guest post.
I love seeing your notes. I don't do anything by hand that I can type. One of the reasons I got an iPad with a keyboard.
enjoyed this post. I love seeing the story in its very basic outline form--and all handwritten as well. I type things out as my handwriting sucks. :)

I have lots of main characters whose names start with the same letter, but when you have ensemble casts and lots of characters, that's kind of inevitable.
I love writing by hand, though I feel like I'm in such a minority these days because I almost always use cursive. The few times I print, it's more like a combination of print and cursive.
You have nice circular writing. Mine is indecipherable!
Look at you! I do everything on the computer (bad handwriting) but it was fun to see your process :)
I like how you draw and write everything out. I try that, too, but I can never read my writing!
It's intriguing to see your process. The map is cool. I should draw more maps. I used to draw solar systems.
It's nice to see your writing process! Very intriguing! And my hand-writing is somewhat decent but readable. My hand writing is not the best so I prefer typing up everything.
It was fun having you over at my blog! It was a blast! Thanks :)
That's very cool. I like seeing other author's processes.
Already visited Livia!
I love your map making skills!!
What a fun idea for a bloghop! One of my CP's told me the same thing about not naming MC's with the same first letter.
Love the methods to your writing.
MJ, there are as many diff styles as handwriting!
Alex, IKR!
Sarah, thanks for hosting!
Sia, yes, i have teacher handwriting =)
Rena, well, you are a doctor.
Patricia, i do that too =)
Tyrean, thanks!
LD, I've done that (a small one my little guy drew a pic we wanted to save, we digitized it!)
Theresa, thanks!
Donna, how do you like it? what app do you use?
Nutschell, thanks, i know you like seeing where we work too! i like that!
Carrie Anne, i have some minor characters whose names do, and it's fine...
Vikki, thank gooness for word!
JA, i just love scribbling!
Sherry, that happens to me sometimes too, writing too fast!
Mary, ooo, solar systems! of course!
Livia, thanks again for having me!
Brinda, me too!
Lynda, double thanks!
Jackie, sweet! thanks!
Hope you still had fun at the movies. Thank you for mentioning my bloghop and you definitely have a good way of outlining and writing your work.
Very cool! I like your maps, and I'm jealous of your handwriting. On paper, mine is big and loopy and somewhat neat-looking. But put it on the whiteboard or get me excited about something and it's a scrawl!
I LOVE this! Especially because I write everything longhand in my first draft! I can relate!
That was very cool to see how you make notes. Maps are one of my favorite things too!
