I'm late!

I got these two awards a couple of weeks ago and haven't properly thanked the givers. Shame on me! Well now I have made time.

Thank you, Carrie Anne Brownian for the Lovely Blog award!

And thank you, Laura at My Baffling Brain for the Reader Appreciation Award!

Each of these has the standard, name seven things about yourself and you know I can't just be normal like that, so I am listing seven Lovely and Appreciative things:
  1. Lovely Tip: To avoid static electricity when brushing dry hair, give the brush a squirt of hair spray first.
  2. Lovely Tip: If you use undereye concealer like me, let it sit on your skin for one minute before blending so it can sink in and last longer (it works! from Bobby Brown at Prevention mag)
  3. Be Lovely: yoga pants are best worn to yoga (they're also comfy around the house!)
  4. Lovely is - admirable, adorable, alluring, amiable, attractive, bewitching, captivating, dainty, delectable, delightful, enchanting, engaging, enjoyable, fair, gorgeous, graceful, handsome, knockout, nice, pleasant, pretty, pulchritudinous!, rare, scrumptious, stunning, sweet, winning
  5. Appreciative Tip: Say thanks to an "invisible" hero, a garbage worker, janitor, stock person, event organizer, mail person, etc.
  6. Appreciative Tip: the best gift is something you want but wouldn't get for yourself.
  7. Appreciative is - beholden, content, grateful, gratified, indebted, obliged, overwhelmed, pleased, relieved, satisfied, thankful!
I would like to pass these awards on thusly:

The Lovely Blog Award           The Reader Appreciation Award
Laura - My Baffling Brain!                     Rena - Dr Faerie Godmother
    Samantha May                                             MJ Fifield
Talynn - Ink in the Book                              Christine Rains
     Laura Marcella                                        Heather Gardner
Angela & Gwen @ Partners in Paranormya       Carrie Anne Brownian

And I would be lovingly appreciative if you joined us in our I'M THANKFUL FOR MY READERS blog hop!

I wear yoga pants around the house all the time. They're my favorite part about being a writer. Well, besides the writing anyway.

Thanks for the award. It's a first for me.

You're welcome, and thank you! :)

Congratulations and like the appreciative tip of thanking an invisible hero.

Yes on the yoga pants. That or pajama pants, although I don't wear those out of the house. :)

I love yoga pants - if I could wear them to work, I would. Real pants with confining waist lines are so overrated. ;)

BTW - my parents live in Canton, Ohio. But I used to live and teach in Mason, Ohio. ;) Where is Cincinnati do you live?

Excellent tips for being lovely. And I think I need to get some yoga pants. I'm missing out on an obviously comfortable existence.

Congrats on your well-deserved awards, Tara, and thanks for passing one on to me!! Your lovely and appreciative things are awesome! I keep a dryer sheet with my hair stuff and that's how I get rid of hair static. :)

Btw, the answers to my What the Weird?! Sources of Inspiration post are linked within each question (Who is the author and what is the novel?). The word author is linked to either the author's official web or wikipedia page, and the word novel is linked to Goodreads!

I'll add to the list to appreciate home makers and mothers. I appreciate my 2 daughters and all their hard work.
When I told someone I was retiring and able to get Soc. Sec. $ they said retiring from what? I've been a home maker for years, but if I had been paid for all that work, I'd be rich.

Ooo, I hadn't heard the one about hairspray in the brush. I'll have to try that.

And you have such a fantastic blog.

What a lovely idea for a hop! And thanks for the tips, especially that concealer one---I shall try it out tomorrow. :)

Congratulations on the award and thanks for passing on the Reader Appreciation one to me. And yes, yoga pants are very comfy around the house. I feel a little better about wearing them in the yard than my flannel pajama pants that I more often wear!

I was going to say the same as Christine - I think people would rather see me in my yoga pants than my pj's. Yoga pants are kind of like dressing up. :)

Stina said...

I don't actually use my yoga pants for yoga. They've been renamed my writing pants.

I didn't know that trick about concealer. Cool idea. :D

Thank you, Tara! I will try to work on this soon. I like your adjectives... nice that there are so many words to describe the more pleasant things in life. =)

Hi Tara .. great thoughts here - and I've joined for the November blog hop - a good thing to give our appreciation more often than we do - great idea from you both .. cheers Hilary

Awards are so fun!
And the reason I noted the yoga pants, the girls flaunt their butts at school in them...ugh.

Have a comfy weekend!
