Each month I relay some tidbits from my Consumer Reports magazine, usually around the 15th. This month it's early for C!
Choice picks from Consumer Reports!
Top dishwashing liquids: Ajax(!) and Kirkland (I love Costco!)
I liked this article 2nd best.
Top online florists!
#1. 1800flowers.com - quantity & quality were a close match.
Proflowers.com and ftd.com were lacking and "diappointingly different."
From personal experience, Harry & David is hit or miss.
Best bbq sauces:
Stubb's, Archer Farms - Target!, Emeril's, Great Value - Walmart! (remember Walmart is based in Arkansas, thas sum geeoood bbq!)
Top 5 drugstores: Independent drugstores (mom & pop), Health Mart, the Medicine Shoppe, Bi-mart (hmmm), Publix
Top appliances - lots of categories so I'm just naming #1's, maybe 2's
vacuum - Kenmore
blender - Vita-mix, Hamilton Beach
coffeemaker - Cuisinart (3 models)
toaster - Cuisinart(4), Hamilton Beach(5)
dishwasher - Bosch, Kitchenaid (4 ea)
microwave - Kenmore
fridge - Maytag
washer - Whirlpool
dryer - LG
The top 8 lawnmowers are split between Honda & Toro.
The top 7 string trimmers are between Stihl (5) & Echo (2)
1st fave article was about Tablets.
ipad/ipad2 still the ones to beat (yay as I typed this on mine!)
Motorola Xoom in 2nd.
Lotta technical mumbo jumbo, result "you get what you pay for."

Hey TTT ~ your Consumer Report is quite a handy column , esp. for busy housewives who need such info at their fingertips but don't have time to waste on research ...

I'm glad that you reminded me that Consumer Reports is a good resource to check before making purchases. I use to refer to it all of the time.

Dropping by from the challenge. Interesting round up.
I like the condensed Consumer Reports. When I subscribed I rarely looked at them. Wanna buy some old Consumer Reports--never been read.
Oh yeah, and I love Costco too!
Contrary to my usual practice of subscribing to comments, to save time during the challenge I will not be doing so at the moment. If you want to respond to my comment , please email me directly from your email notification for the comment.
Thanks. And I truly appreciate your efforts.

Great info. I honestly didn't know Consumer Reports had anything other than cars, major appliances etc, and now I do. Thanks. :-)
